Hello from Carlos

Astronomy was chill today. We basically chatted all night. Conversation went something like this.

Sammy: Why is Jonathan calling me right now?
Nancy: He knows you have a class?
Sammy: Well he should.
Nancy: Jonathan Lieder? Carlos, do you remember him?
Carlos: Lieder? The one who had the long hair?
Sammy: That's the one.
Carlos: Does he still have long hair?
Sammy: No not at all.
Nancy: So what's the deal with you guys? Like, I dunno, what are you?
Carlos: Oooh, are you guys TALKING??
Sammy: Define talking
Carlos: As more than friends!!
Sammy: No. That is very much not a thing.
Nancy: But you WERE talking, right?
Sammy: I mean -
Nancy: You guys are like really complicated, right?
Sammy: Girl, it's been 7 years. It's whatever he picks that day.
Carlos: What? What does that even mean? That requires explanation.
Sammy: Your guess is as good as mine. I dunno. We were a thing. We've been a thing. Now we're not a thing. And things are always complicated.
Nancy: Like you and... what's the name... the one you married, from Canada. JuanJosé!
Sammy: Haha yes JuanJosé. We're friends, how is that complicated?
Carlos: OMG! JuanJosé! You still talk to him?
Sammy: Yes, he and LuzKarime are still my best friends ever.
Carlos: Seriously?
Sammy: Yep, we write letters and stuff. There's nothing complicated about it though. JuanJosé and I decided that if we didn't get married to anyone else, we'd just marry each other. But we're just best friends.
Nancy: Oh okay, I get it.
Carlos: Where do they go to school?
Sammy: He goes to University of Guelph. She took a gap year so I'm honestly not sure of the name.
Carlos: Oh she did? Didn't feel like going to Guelph? -laughs at the name Guelph- sounds like it's from Hogwarts.
Sammy: Nah, she goes to a school closer to home. She commutes. I think mostly 'cause of work and money stuff?
Carlos: Is he still a stud?
Sammy: YES.
Carlos: -laughs- is she still a cutie?
Sammy: Yes, she's adorable. I love hearing her work stories oh my goodness.
Carlos: We were buddies, man! We used to talk on the phone all the time!
Sammy: Haha yeah, well I still talk to both of them all the time.
Carlos: You should tell them I say hi.
