Missing Elli

So I got a text from John today. A rare thing and usually a business interaction these days, since the poor thing is absolutely swamped in his capstone. He asked if I was in class, and unfortunately I was. I responded when I got out, and he told me that I had just missed Elli, his little niece who can't be more than five or six months old now. Poor thing was probably swaddled in a million blankets and hats. John said she was sleeping most of the time anyway. But his mom came to drop some stuff off (I love Mama Wontrop!) and she brought little Elinor along. And he knows how much I love itty bitties, slash I ask about her all the time, so he texted me. I am pretty sad that I didn't get to see her, but I'm weirdly flattered that he thought of me? Like, he was like "there is a little baby here. Sammy should be here". I don't know why but that warms my heart so much. I hope I do get to meet the princess one day :)
