Prayers from Small Hands
We went to church today. Our church has services on Thursdays that are specifically for prayer. We sing a little bit. We have our lesson as usual. And then we have half an hour to pray. We pray in groups for the specific requests from the congregation. So that others know we are here to support them and that we will pray for their health, their safety, their success, their happiness, their spiritual growth and so on. Of course, before we all start praying, whoever is leading the service at that time asks for any thanks someone may want to give publicly or anything we may want the congregation to pray for. Tonight, thanks came from a little boy. He looks familiar but honestly I can't say I know him. Maybe I just need to go to more Thursday services. Regardless. He gave the Lord thanks for his family, for the privilege he has to be living where he is, and for his life and love in general. It warmed my heart. He stood up of his own accord to say that. If he truly was so greatly moved by what God has blessed him with that he felt the need to share it with all of us, then I honestly can't think of a greater gift. How blessed is he to have found that kind of love so young? I am thankful tonight for the heart of that little boy.
