Return of Disney Channel Trash

GIRL MEETS WORLD IS BACK ON TV?? AND NOBODY TOLD ME?!? So instead of being productive I spent this afternoon catching up and WOW THE NEW OPENING CAME FOR MY NOSTALGIA FEELS and I'm so happy I get to devote time to the drama of 14 year olds. They're starting high school now. I'm so proud of them. (Slash the transition wasn't nearly as hard for me but I guess that's what happens when you only talk to 6 people??)

Sometimes, Disney gets it right. After all the class and rehearsal and running around, it was nice to spend the evening relaxing in the apartment. I was mostly excited to watch an episode of Girl Meets World. The episode was about girls in science, and how around middle school age, most girls lose interest and aren't really encouraged to pursue that field anymore. Riley, finding that to be absolutely ridiculous and sexist, refused to do the easy part of the assignment and insisted she wanted to learn and grow, just like anyone else. It reminded girls not to choose their interests based on what others say we can and can't do. Disney got it right, and I hope many young girls are inspired by this.
