1-31-16

Our apartment. Is SO clean. I can't accurately express to you. How glorious that is. Piles put away. Shiny floors. New decorations up. Spots off surfaces. Everything makes me so very happy. Bless.

Day 31: On my mind
I don't fully know what's going on. And I don't know what the future holds for me. But I know I am exactly where I am meant to be in order to find the answers.

1-30-16

Hooray for a final Meet & Greet! It's so nice to spend time with these people, and to finally have a good idea of who is going to join our little family very soon. I look forward to getting all their letters :)

Day 30 (late): Evening
The best way to end the night

TGIF

After today's class load, and my ability to clean and watch videos and get stuff done, I can tell I am going to absolutely love Fridays. Bless Spring 2016.

My First Rehearsal

Since I went to Lazer Team last night, I missed the first rehearsal, SO tonight was my first for Picasso. I'm so happy to be working with this awesome group on such a fun script. Hopefully I can be of use and do a good job. Seriously, this is gonna be such a good time.

Day 28: Up Close
Ice is quite pretty when you don't have to walk on it.

Lazer. Freaking. Team.

It happened. Moises and I drove all the way to White Marsh to have the time of our lives. Long drive. We got there EXACTLY on time. And wow I loved it. Like, as a stand alone movie oh my gosh who would even watch this nonsense, it's so funny but so freaking stupid. But as a part of Rooster Teeth and all they do, WOW it was great. So so so much fan service, I can't even begin to fully describe. And it's so amazing to see my favorite people on the big screen. They worked SO STINKIN' HARD and did such a great job. And, as someone who has never been to a convention or anything of the sort previously, I can't accurately describe the beautiful experience that is being in a room full of people that all love the same thing you do. The amount of RT merch was glorious, and not a single reference went unnoticed.

Day 27: Distant
Another road. On the way to White Marsh for Lazer Team :)

Mermaid Enabling

Aside from spending the afternoon with Mariah and my fave Mandy, and watching lots of great stuff with them, I got to share my mermaids, which they all loved and supported haha. Mariah might make story for me. And THEN, Miss LINDSAY JONES HERSELF, QUEEN OF ROOSTER TEETH, retweeted my RWBY mermaids (or Mermaidens as one of my favorite blogs called them). I'm happy :3

Day 26: Reflection
The snow is finally melting and I am thrilled

Those Goals

It is January 25 and I have read my second book of the year! I'm pretty glad to be speeding along. Hopefully I find time this semester to make sure I keep reading. Gotta reach that 12 book resolution!! The next book is Unbroken. Wish my luck!

Day 25: Bright
You get THREE pics today! Aren't they pretty? I want to buy them all :)

The Problem Ensues

There is literally nothing about my day that is exceptional. I made mermaids. It's cold outside, so I stayed inside and made a whole lot of mermaids. Because I have a problem. But they're so pretty! I have seven original ones now. I think maybe I'll find someone who is looking for stories to write and just give them all my mermaids. I'd love to hear about their adventures together!

Day 24: Fine Details
I’ve always loved any and all artwork from El Salvador. Even a simple name card has so much work put into it. And all the cards in the deck are slightly different.

1-23-15

I love when the Rooster Teeth family expands. I watched the new On the Spot and finally got to really see Trevor Collins' personality. I'd seen him in a few Achievement Hunter videos for brief moments at a time but I never realized he was such a cutie! Not just in looks but he's a goofball oh my goodness precious darling. It makes me happy to see that he, unlike Jeremy (who does not deserve a single ounce of the hate he gets considering he is a hilarious, talented, brilliant, genuine man and handsome to boot), has been so wonderfully received by fans. This family keeps growing and I love it so much.

Day 23 (late): Friend
The greatest friendship I've ever known

The Rich and the Ritual Knells

Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about my love of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I've wanted a stage version of it for ages. It may be Off-Broadway, but the production exists. With music all by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, just like the original movie. And youtube videos now exist about the recording of the original cast album. I can't listen to it without crying. It's just so gorgeous and so beautiful and moving and I love it immensely. I'm so happy.

Day 22: A Dream
Blue Roses & Guardian Angels. Always. Until I find a new dream.

Plans Are Weird

After stressing for forever about when I should go back to campus because this snow is supposed to be horrendous and we don't know how roads will be, McDaniel was smart and closed school for Monday. I appreciate that they actually care about people's safety. And now, my parents will be much less stressed about what I will have to do to get back. We can take our time and move in Monday afternoon when things campus is cleared off and taken care of, and I can spend just a little more time here with my mother. God's plan is best plan.

Day 21: Currently reading
Yay play! Can't wait to start working on this insanity next week :)

1-20-16

Job opportunity for me while at McDaniel? Yes. Yes please. That's not gonna be a fun walk but who cares. I will suck it up and do it. Just the idea of hopefully being employed this semester is EVERYTHING right now.

Day 20 (late by a minute!): Out my window
On a festival day. Ready to take on KCACTF. The sun said hello!

All Humans Are Musical

I just finished The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom. I'm telling you, there is a reason this man is my favorite author! It's interesting because the vast majority of his novels (in fact, I'm fairly certain all of them) deal very heavily with faith and religion. This one does not, at least not in the same obvious way. It is narrated by Music. The entity of music. Which is fascinating in and of itself. But Albom was always brilliant with words, and this book is no exception. I truly believe anyone can enjoy this book, because we all have found some connection with music and know it to be powerful. But anyone who defines themselves as an artist or performer will feel such a strong bond with this novel, I guarantee it. It's a great book and I'm so glad I got the chance to experience it.

Day 19: From a low angle
Well, I kind of live my life from a low angle. So.
Sidenote, what sense does it make for the short person to have most of their mugs on the higher shelves?!

I Did Nothing All Day

Slept in. Finished the laundry (which is super easy so I don't even count it as a chore). Caught up on my shows and videos. Worked out for 20 minutes. About to read my bible, and then maybe more Frankie Presto. Life is glorious when you're home. I'll be motivated tomorrow. But today is my day.

Day 18: Work
Not today, fam

1-16-16

Irene Ryans volunteering. I got the chance to sit in and watch some incredible professionals comment on the scenes and monologues performed by every single Irene Ryans finalist. It's really hard to put all my feelings into words. But I felt so honored and inspired. And I felt incredibly happy for all these kids! They worked so hard and did so well and they have such an amazing future ahead of them. Impressed doesn't begin to cover it. It was easily the best part of all of festival.

Day 16 (late): I feel...
like it's the end of festival. Tired. Empty. Winding down. A weird sense of relief.

Shows Are Fun

They're fun to do. Really. To work with cool people and put something together and make text come to life. They're also fun to watch! And it's really cool to see lots of passionate, talented, driven people put out new works that are funny or sweet or meaningful or whatever. You did a thing! That's freaking awesome! So many people never do the thing. And you did. And you got to watch it come to life. And so did a bunch of other people, and they loved it! I'm super glad I got the chance to be a part of NPP. Really and truly.

Day 15: Selfie
Not always a fan of these. But the prompt wants what it wants.

Relief

We did not move on in Irene Ryans

I feel kind of guilty for not being upset. But like, I'm so so so relieved that we don't have to worry about Irene Ryan nonsense anymore. Jen and John can stop being stressed literally 200% of their lives. And I can actually start to enjoy this festival. Do things for me. Dedicate time for what I want. And find some time to finally rest. Today I went to my first rehearsal. And I could not be happier. I'm thrilled to be working with a cool new director, a passionate new playwright, and a talented new cast. This is the part of theatre that I love.

Day 14: Patterned
New school, new tacky yet endearing furniture

1-13-16

You ever have a long day and think "eh I don't want to go to this thing that I already know, and I'm tired so I just won't bother", but you go anyway and it completely brightens your mood? Argonautika. We saw Argonautika. And OH MY GOODNESS I WAS ROLLING. I am very familiar with the story of Jason and the Argonauts, so unlike a surprising amount of the audience, I knew what was coming. But it was funny. It was visually stunning. It was brilliantly done honestly. Few complaints, but really it was just a fantastic show. I'm so so so glad I decided to go.

Day 13 (late): Black
Many black coats, and none of them techies!

1-12-16

Traveling once again. This time, it's Pennsylvania. I'm at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. It's full of fun and opportunities and important things for me to learn and experience. Thank God, we made it here safely, and everyone has been loving and welcoming. I look forward to these adventures.

Day 12 (late): Warm

A cold drink on a cold day. With my name spelled right! Which gives me warm & fuzzy feelings.

The Couples That Last

We took several minutes of our rehearsal today just to listen to Nick talking about his wife. It was adorable. Oh my goodness he lit up talking about her. And it wasn't like all smitten and cutesy? He laughed at her silliness and complimented her good points and really just genuinely saw so many great things about her and was so happy to be with her. He, like, loves talking about her because she is so fascinating to him. How lovely is that?

Day 11: Fuzzy
Meet Demetrius, another member of our stuffed and lovable family

PS: Carrie has two new songs. One with her boyfriend, and one about an ex. And both are very dear to my heart for very different reasons.
