"You looked so pretty last night. Like so pretty. I just really like you in red lipstick. I dunno. Just you in red lipstick. I like it. I'm going to get you some for your birthday. And something else. But red lipstick for your birthday." - Sara Connolly
This week hasn't been easy. I've felt pretty miserable. But you know what? I had to put that aside for a few hours every night. I put it aside and did what was best for the show. I smiled and collected tickets and showed people where the bathroom was and took them on the service elevator and sold chocolates and cleaned the theatre and told everyone how wonderfully they were doing. And I smiled! Even if my role wasn't so important, I pulled myself together and did the best I could for it. And, honestly, I looked fabulous doing it.

Keep It At 10%
Reason 301: Don't you love those satisfying moments when you get your way? Especially after you thought you wouldn't. Well, a conversation I had let me know I pretty much had to give up on a certain, for lack of a better term, wish of mine. Which, of course, is unfortunate, but you just have to press on, look at the situation positively, and find something else to focus on that will help you improve. I don't know how to word this so it doesn't sound like a "misery enjoys company" type of situation. What I should mention is that I was not the only person involved, but for a long time it felt like I was the only person who cared. So when I heard the other person nonchalantly tell me that the path I thought I would take was no longer an option, I was admittedly annoyed. But I later found out that the other person involved not only cared, but cared so much that this person was still looking for ways to make it work. Honestly, chances are it won't, and that is a sad fact we will both have to face. But the point is having someone else be just as invested, if not more, than you are in something that really matters to you just feels good. Relieving. Empowering. Maybe even flattering.
I'm sure you're absolutely sick of me talking about this album. But this song's lyrics really just hit me. I thought you might enjoy it :)
Vacant, vapid, stupid, perfect
