My First Return to McDaniel

I spent my day with Jonathan, Torreke, Mariah, Alexa, and Gabe. There aren't words for the joy in my heart. Being in Westminster feels right. Being on campus filled my soul with a love I haven't felt in quite some time. It was a wonderful experience. And I'm so glad I got to enjoy a day full of laughter with some pretty brilliant people.

Hello Theatre Kids

I am back on campus for my Jan term! We are discussing Meet & Greet plans. We are taking our class and discussing head shots and monologues and festival. We are going to the gym together. We are making face masks so we look nice for our headshots tomorrow. I've missed these people who make every day wonderful :)

Appreciate your home. The building I mean. Appreciate how clean it is. Appreciate the AC. Appreciate the lack of creakiness. Appreciate the bed you sleep in. Appreciate the shower with a real shower head that you can use whenever you want. Appreciate your ceiling, complete with tiles. Appreciate doors separating all the rooms. And appreciate having ALL YOUR CLOTHES right there with you.

I Survived

Moving like almost 500 freshmen into their dorms is not as easy as it sounds. And if it already doesn't sound easy to you, it's still not as easy as that sounds. Bless. So many stairs. Dunno how I did it, especially with no AC. But I survived.

I met my mentees. So far, I basically love them all. They are all very nice and personable. And they have a strong interest in this class which is what I think is most important. I had butterflies and was actually in kind of a low mood because I was sure I didn't do my job well. But they're all so great and I'm enjoying getting to know them. They say they're having fun and liking the campus, which is awesome. I hope we enjoy the year together. And they truly are a sweet bunch.

However. My ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT of the day was a pair of letters. I got your letter. I got your sister's letter. I can't reply til I go home and get all my envelopes and stamps and such. But I truly wanted to cry when I saw them. They came at just the right time. I love you guys and I love the support you show me even from forever away. You're my favorite people <3

I Am McDaniel

Reason 25: I love it here. All is going well and I have no complaints. It's been such a positive day. With so many positive people. My school president mentioned all the social networking sites that should say "I Am McDaniel" tonight. Pretty sure no one else thought of Blogger haha.

Everyone keeps saying "Welcome Home". It feels nice.
