Down On Friday

Winding down. Finally the weekend. Oh my goodness. The fact that I got as much done as I did this week is a miracle to me. It's been so odd. But now it's done. I drove ALL THE WAY TO GAITHERSBURG AND BACK for this medication. I have it now. It's in my possession. I am home. I am comfy. I am not leaving the house for the rest of the evening. I'm gonna listen to PTX cover Havana for the rest of time. Kthnx.

Spring Break Begins

My final Spring Break is off to a wonderful start. Just in time. I so desperately needed a break, partially 'cause stress and partially 'cause I'm spoiled and the feeling of being on campus for a month straight is slightly overwhelming. Of course visits from my family and friends helped, but it's so good to be in my own home in my own bed.

First night and I got to see my high school's production of Seussical! Adorable production with some very promising performers AND A PROPS DEPARTMENT THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND GOD BLESS (R.I.P lighting crew, I'm so sorry for Smeallie's trippy approach, but it looks GORG). Best of all, I saw it with my girls Margie & Charlotte, who always make me feel safe at home.

And today was my nephew's baby shower! Karla did such a great job with everything. The whole thing looked so great. The kids had lots of fun, the activities were cute, the food was delicious, and it was so beautiful to spend the day with family. We are all very blessed to know and love one another, and today was a great reminder of that. And Baby David will be with us SO VERY SOON <3 I cannot wait to love on this new little gift from God. Hope he's ready to meet Tia Sammy!

Goodbye PA

Goodbyeeeeee. Pennsylvaniaaaaa. No more travelinggggg. I am hooooomeee. Hallelujahhhhhh. It feels so good to be in my own room on my own bed and not have to worry about doing a dang thing tomorrow. UGH. Finally. A week of winter break begins. Let's gooooo. (Unless I'm going out tomorrow? I don't know, I got invited to things and never got real details so WHOOPS.)

Christmas Errands!

Hooray for being home AND being productive

• Exercise is awesome and I'm glad I got to do it
• Christmas Cards are finished and should be mailed tomorrow
• Watched all of Star Wars Episode V because why not?
• Read a good chunk of One Day and I'm glad of it
• Went shopping with my dad for my birthday present!
• Went shopping with my mom for some necessities
• Watched lots and lots of Rooster Teeth videos
• And before I pack tonight, we will bring down all the Christmas decorations!
• But not before dinner and an episode of My Little Pony :)

Last Minute Byes

Before Break:

A last minute bye to Ben, Torreke, Brandon, Andrew, John, Chris, and Toni during a measurement session. We met the costumer for Picasso, who is SUPER pretty and sweet and we are all quite excited to work with her. (I'm also pretty happy with what she said my measurements were because yay diet an exercise!). And of course we all laughed at all the ridiculousness. And then got excited because I mentioned that you sent me a picture and literally everyone knows how attractive you are.

A last minute bye to Jess A. as she and her mommy ran out the door so she could go enjoy her much deserved time at home.

A last minute bye to Paul & Mindy, who came to watch Mariah play some Wolf Among Us and enjoyed the hilarity with me.

A last minute bye to Jess M. as we exchanged Christmas gifts because we are both insane children. I could search the whole wide world and never find anyone better for me in my life than Jess Mies. Like, I believe in non-romantic soul mates because she is mine. And she proved that, not only in the perfect gifts she got me, but just in her willingness to listen to me complain about stupid boys and stupid stress, and the unconditional love she gives me all the time. Aside from family of course, God puts certain people in your life and every day reminds me that I am so much better with Jess in my life. (And as much as I talk her up, you, my Twin and my Little also in that category because I have no clue what I would do without that ray of sunshine in my life or without Joshy's support and encouragement or without your constant love).

A last minute bye to this apartment because tomorrow morning, I will wake up and shower and eat and then leave this little campus behind for a week. Time to go home. And I'll admit I'm nervous to what home might bring. I have an unsettled feeling in my stomach and I don't know if I'm ready. But God knows what I need and I have to trust Him. So home I go!

The Street's A Little Kinder

It's been an odd week to say the least, but I am finally home. And after leaving McDaniel, I went straight to Karla's. I walked in and saw my lovely sister, finally getting some time to herself while Tia Haydee played with Cristina. And Cristina got so excited when I walked in! She made me play kitchen with her for a very long time. She's such a good little chef. She really enjoys feeding me the plastic hot dogs haha. And then we had a yummy dinner at California Tortilla. Karla wasn't feeling too great, but we got home and my mom made her a nice cup of lemonade, which actually helped her tummy. It just felt so good to be with them. I couldn't have asked for a better evening.

No More Junior Year

I am finished with it! Rid of it! Done with the stupid papers and all the stress and time management bull. Done with the silly boy. Said goodbye to asking a million questions and not getting enough sleep and constantly running around. No more silly stinky drama that I somehow hear about because apparently it's all my business. NO GIANT BEES. It's been so fun, I swear. Just not the school part aha. But it's done. And now I sleep. Forever sleep. Summer. Yes.

McDaniel as a Home

Being at McDaniel isn't ALWAYS fun. There's lots and lots and lots of work to do. My room is not my own. There are too many people in those dorms. The bathrooms are often dirty. People smoke and drink everywhere all the time, which makes it hard to breathe and sleep respectively. There's this stupid middle school drama that, even when you're not a part of it, you are always witnessing. Stress is real. Good food is nonexistent. And don't get me started on the feeling of being away from home while on your period.

I am back in Silver Spring and, after seeing some old high school friends, watching a show at Einstein, and spending some time with my mommy, I've realized McDaniel is home. It's annoying and inconvenient. But it's home. Because here I have Karla and Cristina. On campus I have supportive friends everywhere. I have a Little who I love and who loves me. I have the best friend I could ever have as a roommate. I have a Twin who is there for me at all times. I have a theatre to fall in love with every day. I have a church who actually makes me feel loved and welcomed, AND teaches me new things every time I go. A church that makes me a better person. And now a counselor to help me through the tough times.

Don't get me wrong. I'm THRILLED to be home. I need this break. Plus I'll get to see lots of people I love here, too. But McDaniel is home. And that is a surprisingly fantastic feeling.

Today is a list day! That's always good!

• Met up with Storm for lunch. Always a pleasure to see a friend :)
• We had sushi for lunch and I actually really enjoyed it! Hooray for trying new things with an open mind!
• He brought me my book. After I thought he lost my favorite book ever and I would have to buy it again, he finally returned The Phantom Tollbooth to me. Happiness! Joy! Such satisfaction! I just kinda wish I'd had it before I got on a plane haha
• We headed over to Wheaton and I was able to buy some stuff for our service on Saturday.
• We went to FYE and I GOT TWO AWESOME CDS THAT I'VE BEEN WANTING FOR A WHILE NOW. My collections are almost complete :3
• Found out I actually have a REALLY good chance of seeing Anberlin live in November :DDD
• Ran into Peter & Brian at their work, and caught up with them which was lovely
• Daddy picked us up and, after dropping Storm off, bought me some McDonalds.
• We went to my grandma's grave for the 10th anniversary of her passing. He bought her coffee just the way she liked it. It's the 2nd time in my life I've ever seen my dad cry, the first being at her viewing. It hurt but it was sweet. I'm glad I got to go visit her for the first time in years

Twas an eventful day. The new episode of RWBY comes out tonight, so I will see it after service. I'm grateful for days like these. This is what being home should always be like.

One Act Too Many

I apologize for the delay! Now that I am home, I'm back to weak internet. It comes in and out as it wants, so I can't help it. I'll do my best to be on time whenever I can.

Reason 139: One-Acts! at AEHS. It was so fun to see all my friends. And be at my old school. And watch the little ones work hard. I seriously look forward to every performance. And I had a blast! As usual, some were weak while some were outstanding. But overall, it was a fantastic time. I love this group to absolute death! S.T.A.G.E is love, always!

When I See You Again

Reason 138: So Karla has been sick. Really sick. This pregnancy has been a massive struggle for her. I believe she's 14 weeks today? Anyway, she has Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I'll be honest, I've been worried about her all day. She's went to the hospital today (same as usual, she goes every 3 days or so for an IV), but tonight they asked her to stay there. Just to monitor her, but obviously my concern grew. But after waiting and worrying for hours, I'm happy to say that I saw her. And she is feeling better. Obviously, she's not cured or anything near that. But she was in good spirits, and she seemed to be well rested. She has eaten a little more today, and has yet to be sick. I'm happy because I got to see her and calm my nerves. I'm happy because I came home to her. I'm happy because she is happy. I'm happy because, as much trouble as this little one is, this baby will receive so much love from Karla & Eric. I don't know if I've really missed home, but I've definitely missed my sister. I'd like to thank everyone who has kept Karla in their prayers and ask them to continue doing so. It's the least I can do for the person who practically raised me and made me who I am today, and has come to be my best friend. I can't wait to spend a month and a half with her, gladly by her side <3

PS: As mentioned previously (to you, not on the blog), we've been referring to the baby by the size (thanks to a nifty app that compares your baby's size to objects). So the line goes: Sweet Pea, Blueberry, Rasberry, Olive, Walnut, Lime, Plum, Peach, and now Navel Orange :)

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Reason 118: Hot Chocolate just seems to be a motif in my life for making things better. The laughing trio was reunited today and it was just what the doctor ordered. Gossip. Catching up. Making faces. Laughing obnoxiously. Using sounds instead of words. It was seriously that rush of love that I missed so dearly. I love my AEHS friends. I'm probably never going to let them leave my life. And all we did was sit around in Starbucks, chat, and sip our Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Aren't we sophisticated now? (hah. nope.) And now to get more music on my computer and then Wreck-It-Ralph with the family tonight! YAY

Sorry for the lateness! I had no internet at home! Cries in shame

Reason 105: Last night my darling were absolutely WONDERFUL. And tonight I get to see them again. Same show, but different. It's so exciting! It makes me feel nostalgic. I'd spend forever with these kids if I could. But we've all got to grow up some time <3 They're doing just fine.

Also, I've been super productive on my project today. I'm excited for Tuesday! How funny is it to think that when we met, this song was still popular :)
