We Are the Destroyer

Jess & I went to see Anberlin last night! Right at home in the Fillmore!! They came to my itty bitty home town. And oh my goodness was it fun. They were fantastic. Not my favorites mind you. I slightly agree with people, they are not the best quality live (some songs just felt kinda mumbled). But honestly they weren't BAD at all! And the energy/atmosphere was incredible. As performers, they are on their game! It was so great, jamming to all the songs and knowing every word. Jess & I almost lost our voices. We fangirled when he winked at us. And they are SUPER humble & appreciative of their fans. Fun fact: they had no opening band last night meaning they played their longest show ever last night! AHH. I felt so so lucky. Dismantle.Repair. live got me all kinds of emotional. I can't believe I saw one of my favorite bands in their final tour. And with my best friend! Thanks for 12 years, Anberlin! <3

Today is a list day! That's always good!

• Met up with Storm for lunch. Always a pleasure to see a friend :)
• We had sushi for lunch and I actually really enjoyed it! Hooray for trying new things with an open mind!
• He brought me my book. After I thought he lost my favorite book ever and I would have to buy it again, he finally returned The Phantom Tollbooth to me. Happiness! Joy! Such satisfaction! I just kinda wish I'd had it before I got on a plane haha
• We headed over to Wheaton and I was able to buy some stuff for our service on Saturday.
• We went to FYE and I GOT TWO AWESOME CDS THAT I'VE BEEN WANTING FOR A WHILE NOW. My collections are almost complete :3
• Found out I actually have a REALLY good chance of seeing Anberlin live in November :DDD
• Ran into Peter & Brian at their work, and caught up with them which was lovely
• Daddy picked us up and, after dropping Storm off, bought me some McDonalds.
• We went to my grandma's grave for the 10th anniversary of her passing. He bought her coffee just the way she liked it. It's the 2nd time in my life I've ever seen my dad cry, the first being at her viewing. It hurt but it was sweet. I'm glad I got to go visit her for the first time in years

Twas an eventful day. The new episode of RWBY comes out tonight, so I will see it after service. I'm grateful for days like these. This is what being home should always be like.

Devotion

Today is a music discovery day. I shall share with you the things that make me happy.

First off, Finn Harries tweeted this video out today. It's by isosine who ACTUALLY John recommended to me a few weeks ago. And I totally get why. This is so well done :3

Secondly, this is the new track from Adventure Club. I realize you don't like techno all that much. But I'm just such a fan of what they do, especially because their dubstep tracks are actually amazing. Thunderclap is a little more of the 90's electronica I remember hearing as a kid!
Lastly, and MOST EXCITING OF ALL. Remember the new Anberlin album I told you about? Devotion. It comes out October 15th. I've decided I'm buying it. This is what made my decision for me. Read the article, then listen to the song. Seriously, I hope you understand why they are one of my favorite bands. Like, obviously, this cut of the song makes it a little hard to understand what Stephen (lead singer) is saying at times, but the melody is beautiful and the parts I do understand just make me happy. I freaking love this band.

Proud Crying

Reason 106: Today in church, Keila accepted Jesus into her heart. I don't know if you remember Keila. When you came to visit, she was the little girl who was super shy and afraid to say hi to you, but I asked her for a hug and she gave me a super big bear hug? I know that's pretty vague. But it touched my heart. I've watched this little girl grow up. She's so special to me. And to see her take this major step in her faith is so beautiful to me. I teared up a good bit. Many blessings to her :)

Let's make tomorrow a selfless day. Let's try to do our best to think of others before we think of ourselves. I'm sure we can make something great of it!

Too Young to Vote, Come At Me

Reason 101: My classes were pretty chill today. I didn't really have Group Process. I met with Gené for 10 minutes about my project, she approved it, and we were good. But before I even sat down she gave me a sassy look and was like "You didn't audition for my class!" I explained that because of my double major I knew I wouldn't be able to fit the class and I needed to focus on my requirements (but let's be real, I just wanna stick to 4 classes per semester this year). She understood, but said she really would love the opportunity to work with me in that setting, and hopes I audition next year. Flattery! It made me smiley.

 I couldn't choose! Both are titled "Desire". One is by U2 (best band ever), the other is by Anberlin, from their new album Vital that I cannot stop replaying!

Reason 98: Successful shopping day. Hooray for everything on sale. And I NOW OWN VITAL! Yes! This much closer to owning all the Anberlin albums. My night is made. Excuse me while I replay this whole album 1000 times.

Reason 41: Ariana Grande. WHY SO WONDERFUL? She posted a new video today at basically the perfect time, and now I'm jamming all day. Pardon me while I revel in my happiness to this song. She's perfect! And I, for whatever reason, feel an immense need to smile all day.

Reason 26: I got some free time. It's so relaxing here. I decided to sit outside and read. But I have no fun books. But I do have your journal. And oh, how I miss you. I didn't get to finish though, my peer mentor asked me to play a game with her friends, which was absolutely wonderful. I can't help but think how much you'd like it here.
