I spent the day with Lieder for the first time in a while. Wow how I've missed that boy. He heals my soul haha. I really enjoyed finally getting to hear about his girlfriend, Beth. He's happy. Genuinely happy and, for the first time in ages, actually committed to this girl. I'm thrilled to see him growing up. And in the process of growing up, he's working on starting his own business! At the same, he's going to start school again. How crazy is that? He's even getting more involved at his church and helping with their VBS. I wish him well. And I'm really happy I had the chance to fill him in on my disaster of a life. His input is always helpful, and certainly amusing.
Yesterday, Cristina had a little party with her friends for her birthday, so we crashed it. After not seeing Karla and Eric since playing at their wedding, Jonathan finally got to meet Karla's two beautiful children, one of which he shares a name with. I can't explain to you how much that meant to me. Like, that was so very important to me, and it finally happened. I enjoyed watching him chat with Karla and Eric, and hearing all the Dad jokes back and forth. Jonathan said his goodbyes to the Bowens before they leave for North Carolina this Thursday. He knows I'm going to need a lot of emotional support. He's already offered to let me tag along as he works on his studio, and maybe even travel with him towards NC if he ever heads south for a weekend. He's a good egg. My number one, that boy. I've been stressing a lot about certain things. But Jonathan gets me and he's not afraid to tell me what I need. It was a great way to spend the day.

Week of Elections & Gratitude
I'm grateful for Saturday, and all the fun people it brought. I got to spend the day with the lovely Jess Mies and WOW had I missed her. It's always good to see her and share life with her. Her presence brings me joy. And then you joined the fun! It's such a good feeling to have my two best friends in the whole world together. There was a whole lot of love surrounding me that afternoon and it felt great. Add in good food and I'm set! And that evening was the Bad Suns concert which was amazing. They're so good live. Jess is such a great concert buddy cause she and I can just jam to literally anything. It was also cool seeing Kimberly & Camillo! Talk about all the best friends haha. Catching up with her is always so lovely, and I'm glad to see her brother is doing well, too! Especially since I hadn't seen him since I was like 10 and still a baby.
I'm grateful for Tuesday. I got to vote in my very first election. It may not have turned out how I wanted, but I still voted! I did my part. It was really cool actually. I feel grateful for the chance to do it. Plus it was nice to see Weller Road in its new form. I hadn't been in there since I graduated in 2005! And now I'm a voting adult. Crazy.
I'm grateful for Wednesday and the spur of the moment concert. The 1975 never ceases to amaze me. On top of amazing music, the aesthetic is absolutely to die for. It was a much welcomed distraction from the insanity of the day. I cannot thank you enough for persuading me to go. I'm glad we could jam together haha. I think Matty Healy's words will be held close to my heart for a very long time. I expected him to talk about the election, and I know that he can be a smartass so I was ready for some jokes and big talk. But he took it so seriously. I honestly believed what he said. To hear those words from someone who isn't even from here, RIGHT after the fact, and IN the DMV. I can't tell you what it means to me.
I'm grateful for Thursday, and for McDaniel Madrigals. Our beautiful little choir group performed at the Kennedy Center last night. They did so so well and they looked so good. And IT'S THE KENNEDY CENTER. I'm endlessly proud of them, especially of all my Alpha Psi babies. Seeing them on my newsfeed and watching all the alumn comment on the stream was the highlight of my day.

10/30/16
I posted a video about my mental health and how it related to my faith. It was scary to film and endless to edit. But it's been well received and people have said lovely things. It makes me happy.
After a miserable week and a brutal weekend and just a really really hard morning, I didn't want to talk to anybody. I didn't want to see anybody. I didn't want to do anything. I wanted to lie in my PJs and eat chocolate. And the ONLY person who could get me out of my rut was my best friend, over 400 miles away, who couldn't even give me a hug. I was so looking forward to Skyping him later that night. But we didn't get to Skype. Instead, he showed up right at my door, and I got a hug after all. And, even better, I got the news that he will be around for a couple of months, so I get lots more hugs for some time. There aren't enough words in any language to express my joy. Thank you for absolutely making my night.

My Soulmate!
I GOT TO SEE JESS MIES TODAY! Lots of other people as well. I saw Nick and Jonathan and Alex and Stephanie and lots of the Phi Alph girls and the lovely Mies family. It was super great. I am really glad I got to spend the day with lovely people, especially my bestest best friend. I hadn't seen her in a while, so seeing her home and celebrating her victory makes me happy. I had a really good time and I was able to make her happy by being there. Also, I finally met all her pets. Wow Dutchess is the sweetest doggy ever I literally fell in love. And of course the kitties were all darling. It really was just a fantastic day. I mean, what else can you expect if I get to dance with my soulmate.

The Best Reunions
Are with the people who keep you grounded. After work today, I went to dinner with my dear friend Eric. It's been WAY too long. He chopped his hair off ages ago and I still was so surprised to see his hair short. He looks good! And he seems to be doing rather well for himself. It was so great to catch up and see how we've changed and how we haven't and talk about really important stuff, because Eric is always willing to listen and it means the world to me. We also had sushi which was FAAAAAAB (it had Mango on it holy nonsense I was in heaven) and I ran into Margie and our friend Kristina having dinner! It was kinda crazy but very pleasant, and I look forward to later reunions!
Day 1: Smiles
The signature smiley face of John Wontrop.

The Glorious State of Aldwin
A state founded by JuanJosé Medina and Samantha Arana. According to Facebook, it will come into fruition this year.
This was seriously the highlight of my day. Talking to you about making our own place. Where I am the gentle and you are the overlord, and our families can live with us in giant castles "that puts Cinderella to shame". It's my new favorite dream. The girls asked me where it will be, what the constitution is, and what our anthem is. Answers to come I suppose haha. But seriously. Let's make a world all our own :)

Christmas Miracle
A wild Harrison Albert appeared! While I was at Micro Center with my Tia, my Tio, and my sister, I was found by Harrison and his girlfriend Taylor and his friend (our classmate) Foster! It was an exciting time haha. I mean it was honestly just a quick hello how are you how are things. But it was really nice to see him! For the first time in over a year. Hopefully I'll get to see him again before he heads back to his home in Georgia. So strange how times change!

A Long Awaited Visit
JONATHAN LIEDER WAS HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER PROMISING SINCE OCTOBER OF FRESHMAN YEAR THAT HE WOULD VISIT ME. I'm blessed. I needed that visit so freaking much, and having my best friend, not only visit but ACTUALLY GET ALONG with people here and enjoy other people's company. I'm happy. Not only did he buy me dinner but he bought me a giant Mickey, with which I shall cuddle tonight.

Winter Is Here!
And by that I mean a character in the show RWBY. She showed up in the new episode. And I finally got to watch said episode today with the lovely Jess Mies. Twas the highlight of the day. She always makes me feel a million times better, just by gracing me with her presence. And her unending jokes about my marriage to Lord knows who haha.

Lemme Tell You Bout My Girl Idalis
So this chick is 18 now. She's a freshman at Towson. She's basically my little sister. We grew up together in church and she's wonderful. She keeps me sane. She makes me laugh. She is kind and fun and real and strong and talented. And best of all, she is so freaking grounded in her faith. I cannot stress that enough to you. Like, I am not in the slightest bit concerned for her. Sure, college has changed her a bit. College changes people! She is more open about her feelings (though knows how to keep important things to herself). She is more willing to listen to those around her, and understand that different opinions are okay, and that they don't have to shape her opinions if she doesn't want them to. She goes out more than she did before. She wears makeup. She's finding herself! With a great support system and people looking out for her. And she's happy about these new character developments. But seriously, she is so level-headed and intelligent. She is making all the right choices and getting the most out of her college experience.
So when she called me today to tell me that someone accused her of having changed and no longer living as a Christian woman should, I laughed. Firstly, because I saw that coming a mile away. Secondly, because her own mother is okay with this new Idalis. Thirdly, because all this does is prove how high on their own horse this other person is, which would explain why Idalis' immense love for the Lord and desire to please Him now seems small to them. I feel honored that she would come to me to talk when she felt so hurt. But mostly, I am glad that I know for a fact: she cares about her testimony and her relationship with God more than anything else, and when it's called into question she will take it personally. BUT she's also confident enough in said relationship to know that she is in the right place and she does not owe any explanations to others. This girl will do great things, and will probably win many souls for the Lord because of her incredible testimony. I believe in her. And I'm so happy that she is finding herself. It's a shame that this other person can't understand how beautiful that really is.

9-13-15
After a day of being a sickwun and of negative moods and some icky self-esteem issues and a loud and not fun for me meeting... a nice phone call for half an hour changed my mood completely. I can't tell you how happy this kid makes me. We can talk about nothing and it's still the best part of my day.

My Stress Relief
6. The best friend who is your opposite, but feels like home.
This is a best friend you’ve grown up with, someone who has known you from the start.
Her presence grounds you. Though you two may have developed opposite interests and become different individuals over the years, having her in your life roots you to something fundamental within yourself.
Seeing her or even just talking to her is a comfort. She feels like coming home, and you’d be lost without her as an anchor.
I told you last night about all the things I have to do. Well church today kinda tripled my list. I've got A LOT too do. And I can do it. I have to. But I needed a moment to panic about it. And then, relax. And who better to help me with that then good ol' Jonathan. I finally hung out with him for the first time since October. It was lovely. We just chilled on the swings and chatted about absolutely everything. And boy did I need it. Just a good time with someone who gets me.

Me. I'm tiny. So tiny, I had to take this picture THROUGH THE BARS of the bridge because I could not reach over.

Cinco de Plinco
Today was a Mies-wun's birthday! She's 21. That's a little crazy. But hooray for her happy birthday :) We went to the MVA to get her new license, and then had a fun little shopping trip. We took pictures in flowers. And now we are drowning in homework haha. But today is a day to be grateful for one of my dearest best friends <3

Second Hand Pride
Jess Mies auditioned for Choices yesterday. My dear roommate is doing theatre things. Today, she was very nervous about her callback interview. However, she did wonderfully. It will be a bit before we find out whether or not she (or I) made it, but it's a big step! She got over that initial audition fear. And now we just wait. I'm so happy for her. And to be honest, I think she will be pleasantly surprised with herself. YAY JESS! A theatre kid at heart. And now, for realsies <3

Right Back At It Again
Happy 12th Anniversary, Rooster Teeth! Congratulations on all the lives you've touched with your amazing creativity and beautiful hearts. Today was the public release of Episode 1 of Season 12 of Red vs Blue. So good. Soooo goood. I can't tell you how much I missed these characters. But you know what else I've missed? This community. The conspiracy theories. The excitement and group fangirling. I live for it. And it is back in my life :D And this time, I have someone to physically watch it with me! Hooray for Moises.

Friendly Reminder
JuanJosé Medina is a great person and a true friend, and he loves me very much. These are things I knew, obviously. I've known them for several years. But I was reminded of that today. And, quite honestly, that thought has gotten me through this day. I am a very lucky girl :)
Edit: KARLA WAS AT THE PENTATONIX CONCERT TONIGHT. SHE WENT WITH NUBIA. AND NUBIA KNOWS KEVIN. AND KEVIN CALLED ME. AND SENT ME A CUTE VIDEO MESSAGE. AND I'M SHAKING I'M SO HAPPY. I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW EMOTIONAL I AM RIGHT NOW AHHH.

A New Friend
His name is Bense. He's Hungarian. He's here at McDaniel for the semester. I have Film Analysis with him. He's super sweet. He's pretty cute. He has very nice arms. He's kind of distracting. He let me sit next to him in lab tonight. He chatted with me. He apparently lives in this building, potentially on this floor? He walked be back to my room. He responded to me thanking him for his company with "anytime". I'm a little happy.

My Best Friend Michael
So my friend Jess, theatre Jess not roommate Jess, and I worked together a lot last year. In the time we worked together, we discovered that her boyfriend and I have a lot in common. We both play only badminton, we both love the theatre, and we both have a pretty big obsession with Rooster Teeth. He leans more towards Achievement Hunter, but details. We joke all the time saying we are best friends. Well, as we bonded and chatted about it, he decided to get Jess into it. Long story short, she enjoys the content with us now, and when the animated series XRay and Vav was released (featuring my favorite at the time Ray and her favorite at the time Gavin), we would talk about it all the time. Well, today, Jess got a package in the mail from Rooster Teeth! She didn't order anything. It was a gift from Michael. And inside, there were TWO shirts. And one was smaller than the other. What does this mean? I'll tell you what it means. Michael bought Jess a Vav shirt and he bought me an XRay shirt. I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am. He bought me my first Rooster Teeth shirt. I squealed. I almost cried. I'm RIDICULOUSLY happy. And now Jess & I can be lame superheroes. It doesn't hurt that we look the slightest bit like them, too!
