It's Saturday! My plans got cancelled so I spent most of today in PJs doing personal stuff for me. Cleaning. Laundry. Church lesson stuff. Lots of Netflix haha. And man, sleeping in. So so so necessary. While I was cleaning, I found some old stuff. In a 2010 math binder (different from the giant pile of notes from middle school), I saw a small letter from Jason Guerrero. He essentially was checking in on me because I seemed sad or upset, and he let me know that he was always available if I needed to talk. It's such a kind sentiment. One I needed today. And one I'm happy to know is still valid - no expiration date. Speaking of date, I also found two letters from Xabiel. They were love letters. The only love letters I've ever gotten in my whole life. Throwback to junior year. You know, I was really lucky to have him. Even with the amazing life changes he's gone through, I know we wouldn't have worked out. But I'm just so lucky to have him as a friend now. And back then, when I needed to know someone cared about me and saw real value in me, he was absolutely there for me. It's so cute, his spelling is off and he ABSOLUTELY wrote stream of consciousness (which I do, too, but I at least try to sound eloquent haha). And I feel like that makes it so much more genuine and real. Like, we were 16, I didn't need all the floral nonsense. That probably would've made it cringey to be honest haha. I can look at it and just know I was special to him, as he was special to me. What a lovely, warm memory.
Happy anniversary to Hannah and Nick. I wish you every happiness.
And to Eric and Elena?! I thought they were still fighting about whether it was the 10th or the 14th BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY'RE CELEBRATING THIS WEEKEND so I'm just gonna go ahead and say it today so that my bases are covered ;) I'm so glad you found each other.
Wow, I've dated all the guys I've mentioned today. Yikes. But most of them have much more meaningful relationships with me outside of the romance. You know, the ones who bother to talk to me. Ooh Sammy, getting petty haha. But seriously, mad love to them all. I am who I am because of them. And, INCLUDING the many others that stood by my side over the years, I'm grateful I always had my boys to make me feel safe and loved.

Start the Weekend Right
Hooray for sweetness! Yesterday, we were visited by Corner Bakery and they gave the office tons of delicious desserts, on top of some DELICIOUS sandwiches (and chips that ran out before I could get to them). They were all super great. The brownies are fab and the cookies are so soft and lovely. But the CHEESECAKE BARS. CHILD. I was in heaven. It was just such a nice surprise. And when it was time to go home, my mommy surprised me with two slices of cheesecake! What a wonderful life.
Today is a new day. We FINALLY fixed the copiers, so I no longer have to do a 20 step process to complete my work (nor do I have to give other people more work). The boy also FINALLY checked his mail! No response for the letter just yet but honestly, I'm just so relieved. I'm no longer wondering whether or not USPS did their job haha. Now the ball is 10000% in his court. And even if the conversation has ended, I'm okay. And I'm happy knowing that I'm okay. I did all I could and I'm genuinely satisfied with the situation. I look forward to the future, whatever it may have in store. Today is Friday, so I get out of work at four. I will head home, go to McDonald's, stop by an ATM, and head to Jeannie Bird Bakery in Westminster. I am gonna see Dead Man's Cell Phone at McDaniel tonight and I'm gonna love on all my babies. Things are good. God is so good. I've got a feeling that it's just gonna keep being good. One way or another. Let's keep it up!

Sammy Sent A Letter
Sammy did a stupid thing! Well no. Maybe not stupid. Especially since, for the time being, I feel better. I sent the boy a letter. I vented like a lot. I basically was like, hey, here's everything I wanted to tell you and couldn't because you don't call anymore (I think I may have been a little passive aggressive at some points about the whole no longer talking thing). Well anyway, I did it. I wrote it just to make myself feel better. I sent it in the hopes of closure. There's no guarantee he'll respond. Honestly, who even knows if he checks his mail?! But I sent it. I was worried at first. What if it hurts him? What if it brings back some negative feelings? What if he's been over it for a while and he pities me? I know he'd never judge me, but pity is something I feared intensely. But it doesn't matter anymore. It's out of my hands and up to God now. Maybe it'll even get lost in the mail haha. But at least the thoughts don't have to die with me. I don't like the term "move on" because it sounds like I'm dying to get over him and find someone new, which isn't the case. But I think I can start to get better. This Saturday will make two months since the breakup, and four since the first kiss. I'm going to spend the day with my niece & nephew. That's my happy place.
I'm glad your letter finally arrived. You're a babe for sending the album my way. Please write back soon. Nothing in the world makes me feel as good as a letter from my best friend.

There is one thing you need to know about what I did today. One word: Letters.

Across the World
Today was day 1 of Vacation Bible School. Lemme tell you, I am not a teacher. It takes a lot of patience that I just do not have. When God handed out gifts, He did not give me the "good with children" talent. Nope. Not at all. BUT. The assistants were awesome and helped me get stuff done. And what we did today was make cards for a pair of missionaries in Japan. All the little kids either wrote a note or drew something for Mike & Cindy Burgett. I hope to mail them off before the end of the week. I'm just excited that this pair doing amazing things will get this reminder from strangers that they are loved and the Lord will bless them for their hard work.

Packages
AHHH! I GOT IT. I LOVE IT. OMG.
You're perfect and I love you forever
THIS KID. My best friend. Sent me a package today. Completely unexpected on my part. I was THRILLED. I'm STILL giddy about it. It absolutely made my day. Contents include
- A letter, which was overdue and I adored reading, with quotations galore
- A handmade bracelet which fits PERFECTLY and went with my purple outfit today ^_^
- A painting done by the sender himself. With a blue rose and the quotation "Ven Que Te Quiero Ahora". The quotation is from a book called Lotería which I intend to get my hands on.
Seriously. Just looking at the packaging I could've cried. As soon as I get a hook, it's going right over my bed. Also, the thought crossed my mind that this may be the closest I get to getting a blue rose haha. My endless thanks dear friend. You've started my week just right.

"Burn After Reading"
Reason 317: I got a letter today. You actually drew me a picture. I love you forever and for always. If I had a vision board, this picture would be on it. This is gonna happen. Toronto 20Someday. Nope, I shall not burn this letter! I have off tomorrow, so I'll reply then :) It arrived fairly quickly, too!
I've decided I like Carly Rae Jepsen

Bright, Sunshiney Day
Reason 251: Let's sit out in the sun, enjoy the warm breeze, and read a new letter from JuanJosé aka 1/2 of my favorite twins ever. Thanks for the letter, honey. I adore you. And I will write back the MOMENT I get a chance.
Meanwhile. Code Lyoko. I've been re-watching that for a while...
Can we talk about this?
I say no to this... But I'm probably still gonna watch it

Kind Words
Reason 121: I got a letter today from one of the ladies at church. Just to say she's proud of me, and glad I'm doing well, and that I'm in her prayers. Which may be the nicest thing I've heard in a while. I love my church family. They're always there. I wish I'd realized it sooner. But now I see it, and it's a bond I will never let go of.
I love pretty stationary

Send It Along
Reason 83: I just sent 2 birthday cards. It felt fun. And I made them all pretty with MarioKart stickers and everything. I seriously want to get back into the habit of writing letters. I miss it. It's a nice stress reliever. And it's just so fun to get mail (the good kind). I especially need to start writing to my favorite twins again <3
