4/12/17

  • McDaniel is home
  • Time with my Little is absolutely irreplaceable
  • Seeing Jess Mies brightens everything
  • My Twin is the greatest source of love and fun
  • No matter what or when or whatever Torreke and I are just linked
  • I could listen to Toni sing for hours
  • My Grandlittle is precious and I'm so glad we fit well together
  • The new members all have so much promise and potential, and I hope they make the most of their years here because I think they're capable of awesome things
  • Seeing my lovely ladies work hard and have fun doing it is such a blessing. I can't express how alive their spirits are and how capable they are of taking on the world.
  • Those boys are a hilarious delight and I smile every time I'm around them. I feel like I'm safer with these teddy bears by my side.
  • Gabe is absolute sunshine
  • Alexa makes me feel warm. It's such a great feeling.
  • I feel like I can talk to Jen about anything and she just gets me, which is awesome.
  • I'm already an emotional person so me saying "I cried" or "I got emotional" doesn't carry much weight but there was an indescribable feeling in my heart watching everyone sing in their Musical Theatre class. It's a mix of awe and nostalgia and maybe a little longing to exist in a creative space again where people actually WANT to make art 24 hours a day. I just missed these voices. Specifically these voices.
  • I've missed Moises
  • Time stops on this campus. The outside world doesn't matter. It's just the Hill. I know I am glad to be gone because wow does college drain you and after a while you outgrow it. But it felt like the best possible vacation I could take right now honestly.
  • The show is so so so so so so good.
  • It's nice to feel loved
  • My body has felt strange since I got there. I don't know why. I can't describe it. I feel like Zuko during his metamorphosis, though less extreme on the physical toll. I don't even know exactly what's changing but it just feels like a transition is coming.
  • Less than 4 months until Canada

3/4/17

  • I received your letter. It's literally magic, how they arrive at the perfect times
  • Charlotte and I had roadtrip fun as we went to McDaniel
  • I was home. Just being there is so good.
  • I saw Emily for the first time in ages!
  • She formally asked Jess & I to be her bridesmaids, and I teared up
  • Jess A. saw the completed Quote Wall scrapbook. She approved
  • Hung out with my McDaniel Theatre squad and had a blast. Charlotte put faces to names.
  • Chick-fil-a
  • Saw two awesome shows directed by two people I adore and performed by people who make me so dang proud
  • I got hugs. Lots and lots and lots of hugs
When Margie visited McDaniel she kept making comments about how much people love me there. I laughed it off, because we love everybody! That's what family does. But tonight, I just felt it. I was surrounded by it. I feel this incredible, undeniable connection to these people. The way they light up when they see I'm in the greenroom. Or the beautiful, heartwarming compliments I get all the time. Wow the things people said to me today. The warmth that they showed me. It is a feeling I can't describe. And I'm blessed. I'm so so so very blessed. God put these people and this family in my life for a reason. If I, somehow, was able to touch these many people's lives, I'm doing something right.

I don't know what's going on in my life. I don't know when I'm going to feel 100% okay again. I don't know what my next steps should be. But I know I have an abundance of love in my life. With God and with the angels He has sent me, I can do absolutely anything.

My Get Away

While in Westminster, I:
  • Hugged lots and lots and lots of my favorite people
  • Enjoyed an uncomfy but oh so amazing choice that was designed and performed beautifully
  • Went to a cast party and laughed a bunch
  • Got lots of love and support from people who mean the world to me
  • Had a dream about the boy which I haven't done in months (not necessarily a positive but hey I'm sharing)
  • Ate a delicious breakfast in Jeannie Bird with darling Gabe and my Little
  • Watched the first episode of Ouran High School Host Club with Mandy and Paul-athan
  • Talked about important things and making good choices
  • Fangirled over Howl's Moving Castle 'cause I wore my Calcifer shirt
  • Rode home with Mariah and sang rather loudly
Trips to McDaniel bring me a brilliant amount of joy. I cherish them immensely.
Please send love my way. I'm good, just missing my best friend. I wish I could take you with me everywhere.

Start the Weekend Right

Hooray for sweetness! Yesterday, we were visited by Corner Bakery and they gave the office tons of delicious desserts, on top of some DELICIOUS sandwiches (and chips that ran out before I could get to them). They were all super great. The brownies are fab and the cookies are so soft and lovely. But the CHEESECAKE BARS. CHILD. I was in heaven. It was just such a nice surprise. And when it was time to go home, my mommy surprised me with two slices of cheesecake! What a wonderful life.

Today is a new day. We FINALLY fixed the copiers, so I no longer have to do a 20 step process to complete my work (nor do I have to give other people more work). The boy also FINALLY checked his mail! No response for the letter just yet but honestly, I'm just so relieved. I'm no longer wondering whether or not USPS did their job haha. Now the ball is 10000% in his court. And even if the conversation has ended, I'm okay. And I'm happy knowing that I'm okay. I did all I could and I'm genuinely satisfied with the situation. I look forward to the future, whatever it may have in store. Today is Friday, so I get out of work at four. I will head home, go to McDonald's, stop by an ATM, and head to Jeannie Bird Bakery in Westminster. I am gonna see Dead Man's Cell Phone at McDaniel tonight and I'm gonna love on all my babies. Things are good. God is so good. I've got a feeling that it's just gonna keep being good. One way or another. Let's keep it up!

My Baby and New Baby

I got a wonderful visit today from Karla and Cristina and my mommy. It was SO. UNBELIEVABLY good to see them. I've missed them way too much for words. Poor mama has a cold and Baby David is not helping, but we're all excited for the Baby Shower in 2 weeks. And even more excited to meet Baby David in April. (Yes April. Please no more May babies).

Also. I got a new phone! Finally! After having problems with Rin for at least 4 months. Karla & Eric got me a new phone as a graduation present. So I better graduate haha. It's a Galaxy Core Prime. His name is Castor (like the club owner in Tron: Legacy, as per my theme). Hooray for being able to communicate with the outside world :D

A Long Awaited Visit

JONATHAN LIEDER WAS HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER PROMISING SINCE OCTOBER OF FRESHMAN YEAR THAT HE WOULD VISIT ME. I'm blessed. I needed that visit so freaking much, and having my best friend, not only visit but ACTUALLY GET ALONG with people here and enjoy other people's company. I'm happy. Not only did he buy me dinner but he bought me a giant Mickey, with which I shall cuddle tonight.

It's About Time

Jonathan Lieder finally has his license! About time. Poor thing should've had it months ago. But the time has finally arrived and he could not be happier. He texted me a few hours after receiving it with a picture and a promise to visit me some time soon. I so need that <3 Just a nice visit with a friend from home.

11-22-15

How lovely to spend a morning with my favorite ladies. Emily was here for the weekend and, unfortunately, our time was limited. I never get to see her much because I'm always doing a show, so I'm running around like a crazy person. She's super understanding though, and as I said before, she is insanely supportive. But Sunday was nice because I didn't have to be anywhere until the afternoon, so Emily, Jess, and I had a grand morning together. I really just enjoy their company. Probably more than they know. I don't know if I show it enough haha but I'm so grateful for those glimpses of our past. And I look forward to all our fun times in the future.

Also, maintenance day was hella chill for me and all I did was hot glue Christmas ornaments for an hour while listening to Pentatonix which you can imagine was a blast. I'm so ready for December.

10/2/15

I enjoy seeing people I love. I enjoy when they visit. I am glad that they get to be a part of my life and see me in the place I call home. It's always great when people come to say hello. I missed these people. And it's just so nice to hug them and love them and share a moment together.

9-18-15

My Tia Haydee is home! (I am also home for the weekend). She is visiting from El Salvador for a few weeks and I'm really glad to see her. She hasn't been here since 3 years ago (for Karla's wedding) so it's really cool that she's visiting. It'll be really nice for my mom to have some company. Plus, there is now tons of delicious Salvadorian cheese and semita and all that jazz in our fridge. You already know she brought that big old bag of Pollo Campero. Oooh! I'ma get so sick and I do not even mind.

Visits from Mentees

JASON WAS ON CAMPUS TODAY! He's doing incredibly well at UMBC. Better food. Better dorms. Classes are going well. He's working hard. He plans on auditioning for their musical. It'll be a crime if that kid doesn't get cast. I love him. I've missed him so much. I'm so glad I got to spend time with one of my favorite people.

Dinner Date

I DIDN'T BLOG YESTERDAY! HOW? WHY?! I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO WRITE AND I JUST DIDN'T WRITE IT. Man. I goofed. Well, let me write yesterday's entry now I guess.

John came to Silver Spring! Just to say hello. We had dinner at Panera and just hung out at my place for a bit. It was a lovely evening. Seriously, I think that's exactly what I needed. A good friend who gets where I am in life to just talk to and motivate me. None of that icky date stuff. You pay for your meal, I pay for mine, and we make a mess 'cause who are we trying to impress? No one. And that's the best haha. ALSO we ran into Jonathan! I found it kind of hilarious that, of all the people at McDaniel, John met him first. I couldn't stop laughing afterwards cause Jonathan thought I was on a date and John was now sizing up the guy he'd heard me complain about for over a year. WHOOPS. Ah well. It all went well and I am quite content. Especially since John forgot his hat and now it's mine until the end of break. Mwuahaha.

August 7th, 2014

Today is a list day! That's always good!

  • Met up with Storm for lunch. Always a pleasure to see a friend :)
  • We had sushi for lunch and I actually really enjoyed it! Hooray for trying new things with an open mind!
  • He brought me my book. After I thought he lost my favorite book ever and I would have to buy it again, he finally returned The Phantom Tollbooth to me. Happiness! Joy! Such satisfaction! I just kinda wish I'd had it before I got on a plane haha
  • We headed over to Wheaton and I was able to buy some stuff for our service on Saturday.
  • We went to FYE and I GOT TWO AWESOME CDS THAT I'VE BEEN WANTING FOR A WHILE NOW. My collections are almost complete :3
  • Found out I actually have a REALLY good chance of seeing Anberlin live in November :DDD
  • Ran into Peter & Brian at their work, and caught up with them which was lovely
  • Daddy picked us up and, after dropping Storm off, bought me some McDonalds.
  • We went to my grandma's grave for the 10th anniversary of her passing. He bought her coffee just the way she liked it. It's the 2nd time in my life I've ever seen my dad cry, the first being at her viewing. It hurt but it was sweet. I'm glad I got to go visit her for the first time in years
Twas an eventful day. The new episode of RWBY comes out tonight, so I will see it after service. I'm grateful for days like these. This is what being home should always be like.

Almost, Maine

So I went to see Almost, Maine tonight. This is an advertisement for anyone in the 301 that reads my blog. Go. Albert Einstein High School. 7pm. The show itself, the writing, is SO GOOD. Like, its sad and funny and all kinds of awkward. But the reason it's so awkward is because all of it is so intimate. And we've all been in every story. We can relate to all of it. It's exaggerated and it's just a bunch of metaphors taken way too literally. But it's the most honest love story I've seen on a stage in a long time.

Not all the acting is great, admittedly. But the ones who are good? Absolute gems. Kyle Smeallie & Noah Habenstreit get honorable mention, as expected by anyone who knows this group. Declan Enright & Zachary Norris have THE best chemistry. Christian Moreno & Erin Gallagher are both fantastic and work really well off each other. Mae Keller, completely new to me, really owned her scene. And the whole thing just gives me feelings. Go watch. Go. Watch.

World's Best RA

Can we please talk about how adorable Norman is right now? He's legit walking into the lobby checking on me. Like making sure I'm okay and don't need help with this project or whatever. And he came in to say goodnight and everything. I love wonderful people.

I think I've already posted this? I don't care. I like it :D

Surprise Visit!

My mom came to pick me up at school today. And Karla & Cristina came with her!! It was a very pleasant surprise. And the baby needed a diaper change, so we took her into my dorm and fixed her right up! She even wrote a little note on my wall <3 Then it was time to get the sleepyhead back in her seat and head home.
Happy 3 months, babygirl <3

HOMESTRETCH

Reason 355
oh snap. almost a year

Cristina came to visit me at work today! Karla stopped by during my lunch break along with my Tia Lindo and my beautiful niece. I held her for all of 40 seconds before my mom took her, of course. But I don't care. It seriously made my work day SO MUCH BETTER. I didn't want my break to end! <3
