Down On Friday

Winding down. Finally the weekend. Oh my goodness. The fact that I got as much done as I did this week is a miracle to me. It's been so odd. But now it's done. I drove ALL THE WAY TO GAITHERSBURG AND BACK for this medication. I have it now. It's in my possession. I am home. I am comfy. I am not leaving the house for the rest of the evening. I'm gonna listen to PTX cover Havana for the rest of time. Kthnx.

It's Finally the Weekend!

We're traveling so it's gonna be exhausting but I'm just SO HAPPY this week is over. Work was hard and I'm happy that I don't have to think about it for a few days. Hooray for breaks!

Today was also femenil (women's bible study). We're divided into teams this year, so that everyone gets involved in the service at some point. My team went for February. I'm so happy with it! So much love and chocolate and hearts and cuteness. A lovely message and a whole lot of fun. The team leader put me in charge of running games. I guess because I am the least timid, so they all sang hymns or read passages or presented gifts. Enter Sammy, hostess extraordinaire. Not really, I'm just loud and obnoxious and not afraid of anything haha. They seem to like that about me, and it worked to get people excited so yay! My prize was a delicious slice of cheesecake.

Also MY NEW SHIRT IS HERE and I kinda love it. It's just a tshirt that says "I will not tear down other girls, I will support them". Which is what I'm here for. A strong February mood. A strong every day mood even

July 21-23

When my mom went to the hospital, I thought it was a sure thing that we would no longer be going on the church retreat the following weekend. But my mom and sister both assured me that it would be no trouble, and that that's why Karla was here anyway. So I went and I stayed with my friend Jenny. It worked out 'cause my mom honestly didn't want to go in the first place.

I had a really good time. We had a guest pastor who gave some incredibly edifying sermons - I'm a fan of his preaching. I got to pray with the youth group which helped me feel much more at ease. We all spent a lot of time together and got to share the stories we'd been holding back for a while. We laughed a lot. We ate Buffalo Wild Wings. We stayed up til 3 in the morning. It was actually an incredibly relaxing weekend. The camp is always so pretty and everyone feels at home there. And some things were pretty strict compared to previous years, but others were not. No mandatory morning devotional! No curfew! We had so much more time to do what we wanted with our friends in a place where w all felt safe. It's hard to describe. I'm just really glad I went. And since my mom wasn't there, I had lots of people looking after me. I'm always grateful for their care. Plus, what better place to celebrate my 11th anniversary of my baptism but in the very place it happened?

Video to come soon, hopefully!

My Get Away

While in Westminster, I:
  • Hugged lots and lots and lots of my favorite people
  • Enjoyed an uncomfy but oh so amazing choice that was designed and performed beautifully
  • Went to a cast party and laughed a bunch
  • Got lots of love and support from people who mean the world to me
  • Had a dream about the boy which I haven't done in months (not necessarily a positive but hey I'm sharing)
  • Ate a delicious breakfast in Jeannie Bird with darling Gabe and my Little
  • Watched the first episode of Ouran High School Host Club with Mandy and Paul-athan
  • Talked about important things and making good choices
  • Fangirled over Howl's Moving Castle 'cause I wore my Calcifer shirt
  • Rode home with Mariah and sang rather loudly
Trips to McDaniel bring me a brilliant amount of joy. I cherish them immensely.
Please send love my way. I'm good, just missing my best friend. I wish I could take you with me everywhere.

Why Oh Why Oh Why Oh

We are going to Ohio for the weekend! Eric's sister Lisa is having a baby shower and we have been invited. Eric's mommy was super excited about getting our room all nice and pretty for us, which is way too cute. Going elsewhere will be a nice change of pace. Also, a weekend with Karla & Cristina! Always something to look forward to. Sidenote, hella proud because I'm packing ultra light and I honestly don't feel like I'm missing anything. Mommy might be struggling with that a bit more, but I'm sure she will manage okay.

Grid is not going with me on this trip ('cause let me not be rude and on my computer all weekend) and accessing blogger on my phone is a hassle and a half SO I shall see this blog again on Sunday!

Yay Weekend!

I've left my dorm once all day, and that was to go to the gym. I've been in my lovely room. I've been doing homework. I've been watching my shows. I've gone over my lines & music. I've been getting my life organized. It's lovely. Nice, relaxing days where I can do things at my own pace are lovely. I missed this. It's only been a week haha but it feels good to relax.

Wonderful Weekend

Just a heads up. My computer is doing the thing again, so I basically caved and am now typing this in the library. Blog withdrawal.

FUN WEEKEND. Lots and lots to tell. Back to bullets.
  • For reasons that needn't be discussed, Mae is no longer the Stage Manager (pledge mom) for Alpha Psi. Of course that isn't a position that can be left open since that person is the bridge between current members and potential new members. SO. We had lots of voting to do. We first voted that the position could be a co-management position this year, considering how last minute it was and the fact that we are ALL insanely busy. After a few nominated people, myself included, left the room, the group had a long discussion, which I'm still kind of curious about. By the end, Jess Anderson and I were voted as the co-stage managers. We're both really excited to get things started for this new class. Hopefully we're able to do a good job and be as helpful as they need us to be. There's a lot to be done, and I want to be there for Jess in whatever capacity possible. SIDENOTE Jess and her boyfriend Michael have been dating for over two years. Their song is Your Guardian Angel. You already know what my reaction to that news was <3
  • I went home for the weekend. I spent the first night helping my mom babysit Cristina. Poor thing is teething, so she's already fussy. She's also developed what we call "mamitis" (in Spanish), so basically if she doesn't see her mom or dad the little girl starts wailing. It breaks my heart, but I enjoy every possible moment with her.
  • I hung out with Eric on Saturday. We went to Panera, and then we went to AEHS to see their fall show, Figments. Oh my goodness. I loved it. So cute. And Eric was such a good sport about the whole evening.
  • At the show I saw Alex, Jason, and Brian. Oh my darling. I can't begin to describe how much happiness filled my heart spending time with them. I can't believe how much I missed them. And how much they missed me as well. It was so healing. I also saw a WHOLE BUNCH of my babies, and it made me ache for my school. I'm not living in the past, I don't think. But that auditorium is home. And the little ones make sure I always feel welcome. Hugging Spencer is one of the best feelings ever. After the show, the boys went on a Kenny's run for old times' sake and invited me to join them. It was my first time ever stepping foot in Kenny's. Finally.
  • Hector texted me. All evening. My dearest darlingest friend who I miss oh so much. He's coming back for Christmas. I finally get to see him again. Words can't describe how big my smile was when he told me. He also said he'd like to see me outside of church, and proceeded to shower me in compliments as he always does. Seriously, I'm gonna marry that kid haha. I just need it to be December like, NOW.
  • Sunday morning brunch with the ladies of our family at Silver Diner. SO much fun. I love spending time with those girls, they are always such a delight. And yes to good food. Just yes.
  • Went shopping with Karla and the baby, so now I have a new jacket and boots for Europe :3
  • MONDAY ISN'T WEEKEND BUT I'M COUNTING IT ANYWAY. Last night was our first rehearsal for Jack & the Beanstalk. Can we please just talk about how good it feels to be back in a rehearsal process? I'm stressed and overbooked and trying to manage my time and the one thing that makes me busiest is the one thing that keeps me sane. I will get everything done though. As crazy as it sounds, working in the theatre just motivates me to do better. It breathes new life in me. And I'm back in it. And I'm going to be in a show with a wonderful cast of people and a crazy director. I'm in heaven ^_^

"I Love Theatre People"

First off. EMILY IS HERE. OH MY GOSH MY ROOMMATE IS BACK AND I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND I'M SO GLAD I FINALLY GET TO SPEND THIS WEEKEND WITH EHR AFTER A CRAZY 5 MONTHS OF MISSING HER! AHHH

After tonight's show of Pygmalion (huge crowd, by the way, and everything went beautifully!), I got out of my dress, grabbed my wrapped gift, and headed to the theatre with my girls. I was so happy they'd participate in an Alpha Psi event with me. We were having another dog party. For the event I BOUGHT A LIGHT SABER. And I wrapped it in One Direction paper so that no one would want it. It was the first thing someone grabbed. And after much fighting and yelling and struggle. I WON. I GOT IT. I GOT IT BACK AND IT IS MINE AND I HAVE A LIGHT SABER AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. The lot of us are so crazy. Seriously. And I was so glad to see that the girls were enjoying themselves and had fun with everyone. Afterwards we played Sardines. Lauren and I teamed up and had a blast running through that theater in the dark. Afterwards we sat and conversed and laughed outside the theater with some wonderful people. I am just now getting back, and my roommate isn't here so I can take my time writing this and getting into my PJs without disturbing anyone. It's a lovely feeling. Ugh. Being surrounded by wonderful people. It's all a girl can ask for.

Reason 188: I have no class on Fridays! Life is so nice. Especially with Smores Hot Chocolate

And now, ultimate cuteness

That Swing

Reason 55: Emily is packing as I type. Sadface. I need a distraction before tomorrow. What can I do? Hmm. Oh, maybe SWING DANCE?! Excitement. I wish I'd been given notice to get more of a costume from back home. But ah well. It doesn't matter. Tonight shall be fun!

EDIT: I don't think you understand how nice it is to go to a dance where people ACTUALLY DANCE. Swing is quite the impressive skill. We just made it up as we went along. But man, was it fun. And since it was with a bunch of college kids, a few older gentlemen asked me to dance. Yes, gentlemen. And it was so cool, 'cause they knew what they were doing! So they led me perfectly and taught me stuff and it was SO FUN. We'll have to go and actually learn sometime, pretty pretty please!

Your Eyes Are Open

Reason 54: So I'm exhausted. And let me tell you why. I stayed up until 6 in the morning. On skype. Oh my goodness. It's awful. But I'm so happy. Because we've talked about everything. And it was so soothing. And sweet. And basically I love him. And I can't wait until this weekend. And it was JUST what I needed :)

We had a bit of time where he just sent me songs continuously. And this was one of them. And I tried so hard not to laugh and wake Emily up!

Here For A Weekend

Reason 53: Emily and I are dying for it to be the 22nd. That will be her 2 month anniversary with Jeremy! And I will have been here a month! And... I guess, I'm celebrating. COME ON SATURDAY!

From Across the Universe. I love this movie! And The Beatles :D
PS: The title is lyrics from Blame It by Jamie Foxx, for no particular reason.
