A successful Friday! Today I actually managed to get some decent stuff done at work. It was also my boss' birthday! Dr. Gowda, the one who has me as his surgery coordinator. We got him a yummy, cute little cake and everything. It was a nice moment. And later, when UberEats randomly showed up at our office, we realized it was his beautiful, loving wife sending her hubby lunch for his special day. How sweet is that? I really like her. And I really like the two of them together. I can't explain hehe they just make me happy.
Today I take apart the Jesus puzzle (my January one) and start working on February. It's a collection of pies! Which sounds really good right about now. I've been craving cookies or a donut or like a SOLID dessert all day. Cake is too squishy to count haha.
I had plans with Xabiel but he had to cancel. Which means I spend the night in. Honestly? So freaking relaxing. I'm watching One Day at a Time. This show is so good. I already adored it and all the issues it tackled. But season 2 is something new. And I'm obsessed. And as much as I laugh and love, it also really hits home. The episode I just watched was about depression, how one character realized she'd have to live with it forever and she can't just go off meds and stop therapy expecting to suddenly be cured. The intensity was real. I can't describe it but, knowing that my depression feels like hers sometimes and that this time period is usually when it hits its peak, it really just pulled at my heart. Full tears. And to hear that her mother, who doesn't really get mental health and never knew how best to support her, could finally admit to not fully understanding but still wanting her daughter to do whatever necessary to be happy REALLY. REALLY. Hit my gut. I don't think I can stress how important that is. Even if it was from a fictional character, I think I really needed to hear it.
I texted Karla when the episode ended and told her I was sobbing. Because I was, no exaggeration. No giant heaving breaths or anything dramatic but honest to goodness tears that will not stop. And I told her I needed chocolate and ice cream and blankets. She sent me "I'M HERE FOR YOUUUUUU!!!!!!" followed by emojis of chocolate and ice cream and beds with blankets. If there's anyone I can count on it's my sister.

One Call Away
Thank God for my sister. Seriously. I do not know how I would function or the person I would be were she not on this Earth. I need her so much and she does incredible things for me. Even if it's just over a phone call. It still means the world. I love her forever.
Day 7: Collect
Keychains! Once upon a time.
Until I realized I'd never find a key ring big enough for all of them hehe

The Street's A Little Kinder
It's been an odd week to say the least, but I am finally home. And after leaving McDaniel, I went straight to Karla's. I walked in and saw my lovely sister, finally getting some time to herself while Tia Haydee played with Cristina. And Cristina got so excited when I walked in! She made me play kitchen with her for a very long time. She's such a good little chef. She really enjoys feeding me the plastic hot dogs haha. And then we had a yummy dinner at California Tortilla. Karla wasn't feeling too great, but we got home and my mom made her a nice cup of lemonade, which actually helped her tummy. It just felt so good to be with them. I couldn't have asked for a better evening.

A Quick Visit
Karla came over for lunch today. It is hopefully not the last time I see her before I go off to school. However, it's not unlikely. Still, I'm glad I got to see my favorite person and just chat with her. It always makes me feel better :)

Friendly Reminder
JuanJosé Medina is a great person and a true friend, and he loves me very much. These are things I knew, obviously. I've known them for several years. But I was reminded of that today. And, quite honestly, that thought has gotten me through this day. I am a very lucky girl :)
Edit: KARLA WAS AT THE PENTATONIX CONCERT TONIGHT. SHE WENT WITH NUBIA. AND NUBIA KNOWS KEVIN. AND KEVIN CALLED ME. AND SENT ME A CUTE VIDEO MESSAGE. AND I'M SHAKING I'M SO HAPPY. I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW EMOTIONAL I AM RIGHT NOW AHHH.

3-7-15
We closed the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Our final show was a success. They laughed. Yik Yak adored us. My sister AND my mom came to see me! And Karla was one of the volunteers. They sat her right next to me. I was so nervous with her there haha. But it all worked out. She was super cute and everyone loved her. It was the first time in my life that Karla and I shared a real stage together. Life goals accomplished :)

The Game Of Life
Karla: Eric, pay attention to what you're doing.
Eric: Sorry. Got me all distracted with your looks. Got me flustered.
Eric: Will that be enough?
Karla: That's more than enough!
Eric: I like my tea strong. Like I like my women. Yeah that's right. I'm talking about you.
Eric: -passing out life cards- one for Sammerz. And one for ma ladeh.

Surprise Visit!
My mom came to pick me up at school today. And Karla & Cristina came with her!! It was a very pleasant surprise. And the baby needed a diaper change, so we took her into my dorm and fixed her right up! She even wrote a little note on my wall <3 Then it was time to get the sleepyhead back in her seat and head home.
Happy 3 months, babygirl <3

An Eye For Things
We're watching Family Ties at Karla's house. It's the episode where the family goes camping. The littlest child, Andy, has a sleeping bag. It's rolled up and only shown for 4 seconds. AND KARLA. NOTICED. IT WAS A SNOOPY SLEEPING BAG. What. WHAT. Her radar is unparalleled.

Chompy
Spent the whole day with Karla & Cristina. We watched Atlantis, Family Ties, and some Phinea & Ferb. We went for a lovely walk in this beautiful weather. We went to the park and went on the swings for Cristina's first time (more like Karla held Cristina and just sat on the swing). Babygirl bit her Mommy's nose! And I basically died laughing. Watching that little girl smile and coo is my favorite thing. I could play with her forever. I can't imagine her growing up into my age! And older! But it will happen. She's already gotten so big. And she'll just keep growing. Ugh, I'll just have to do what I can to help her. And Karla makes such a wonderful Mommy.

HOMESTRETCH
Reason 355
oh snap. almost a year
Cristina came to visit me at work today! Karla stopped by during my lunch break along with my Tia Lindo and my beautiful niece. I held her for all of 40 seconds before my mom took her, of course. But I don't care. It seriously made my work day SO MUCH BETTER. I didn't want my break to end! <3

Cut the Lamb Cake!
Reason 245: We had dinner at Karla's! We being my mom, Karla, Eric, Eric's parents, Eric's sister Lisa, Lisa's husband AJ, AJ's parents, and myself. YAY BIG DINNER. With AWESOME food and an adorable cake that looked like a lamb. I love days that I get to see Karla. And she and Eric looked all cute and matchy! She had on a baby pink dress with white polka dots. You could see her baby bump really well. Oh goodness I am too excited for this child. THEY ALSO HAVE A NAME PICKED OUT! Of course, they're not gonna tell us, the sneaky ones. And by sneaky I mean incredibly smart. Well done. You can't say nuffin!
Happy Mars Day (30 Seconds to Mars)
and Happy 5 years of being in Canada.
Missing you for 5 years really SUCKS. But I'm glad you've found a place to call home. <3

To Health!
Reason 144: Spending the day with Karla. She seems to be doing better. Her energy levels are down, as expected, but she's eating! She's actually eating! And she's yet to feel sick. I seriously find that to be an incredible success. For the most part, she's been in a positive mood, and that's all I can ask for. She also told me to think long and hard before I ever get pregnant haha. Okay Karla, I know <3
Also, point for Sammy! Emily is into My Little Pony :DD
As much as Pinkie Pie annoys me, this may be my favorite song of the whole series

Reason 142: Hanging out with Karla, sitting around, watching Disney movies? Best day in a long time.

When I See You Again
Reason 138: So Karla has been sick. Really sick. This pregnancy has been a massive struggle for her. I believe she's 14 weeks today? Anyway, she has Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I'll be honest, I've been worried about her all day. She's went to the hospital today (same as usual, she goes every 3 days or so for an IV), but tonight they asked her to stay there. Just to monitor her, but obviously my concern grew. But after waiting and worrying for hours, I'm happy to say that I saw her. And she is feeling better. Obviously, she's not cured or anything near that. But she was in good spirits, and she seemed to be well rested. She has eaten a little more today, and has yet to be sick. I'm happy because I got to see her and calm my nerves. I'm happy because I came home to her. I'm happy because she is happy. I'm happy because, as much trouble as this little one is, this baby will receive so much love from Karla & Eric. I don't know if I've really missed home, but I've definitely missed my sister. I'd like to thank everyone who has kept Karla in their prayers and ask them to continue doing so. It's the least I can do for the person who practically raised me and made me who I am today, and has come to be my best friend. I can't wait to spend a month and a half with her, gladly by her side <3
PS: As mentioned previously (to you, not on the blog), we've been referring to the baby by the size (thanks to a nifty app that compares your baby's size to objects). So the line goes: Sweet Pea, Blueberry, Rasberry, Olive, Walnut, Lime, Plum, Peach, and now Navel Orange :)
