Season 8 Hype

AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW IS BACK ON TV

This is important to me for reasons. I actually don't have MTV anymore, so I will have to wait to watch it online. HOWEVER. I have just been so effing pumped all afternoon. I knew it was coming back but I didn't know it would be tonight! It's on as I type. Eep. I can only imagine. I've been rewatching all these awesome crews and remembering some incredible moments and all the insane moves and just ughhhh I love this show and I'm so happy it's back in my life.

Translation

I have had a very stressful day. It's been tough. But as a result of all the earlier events, I am home. I am relaxing. I am watching videos and I will workout later today. Bless. SO. One of the videos I watched was a translation of Will Jay's Voice of China audition, so nwo I finally understand what the judges said. I just love him? And so did all they? I'm so proud. I love fangirling over him 'cause he totally deserves it. It's not like Jared Leto where the man has been around forever and has hella awards and everybody knows how beautiful and talented he is. It's Will Jay who no one has heard of and he gets zero recognition for all the things he does and he's super cute and super humble and just UGH. IT'S HIS REAL BIG BREAK. I'm so excited for him. I hope he gets really really far. People should continue to translate, specifically for me haha.

Color By Numbers

That was my job today. Pretty literally. I am on task three of the list assignments. This time, she wants to be able to organize the list by vendors. Instead of creating a new list, every vendor gets a color. I highlight accordingly. Literally color by numbers. It was fun, I'm not gonna lie. I want that to be my job forever!

Day 27: Asleep
Here's a doodle I made while waiting for more highlighter colors

Reward

I got a good number of things off my to-do list today, including finishing the script for the skits and emailing Bryan my (rather fantastical and ambitious) decoration ideas. It's just nice to have time to handle my stuff. Including FINALLY GETTING TO WORK OUTTT TODAAYYYY HALLELUUUU. Like I'm not looking forward to it but I still feel super sing-songy because yo it's been a week I've been slacking and it's about effing time I stop complaining and start working.

Day 26: Black & White (mostly)

The Right Way to Spend Saturday

You wake up slightly past 7am and realize you still have time to sleep. Do the same at about 8:30. Get out of bed past 9 for the first time in a week. Rejoice because your vlog for the week is already up. Have your sister and niece come over for the first time since, like. July 4th and spend most of the day with them. Visit your mommy at work with cute baby in hand. Watch Pentatonix documentary while baby is napping. Finally start getting somewhere with research for Vacation Bible School, and get your awesome friend to let you borrow her flag while someone else buys maps for you. Develop decoration ideas for your classroom. Cross some videos off of your watch list. Decide what books are read when. Go to church and learn about spreading the Lord's word. Have your first opportunity to direct a large project, with people looking to you and trust you. Lead a large meeting to get everyone on the same page, and actually get somewhere. Trust your cast & crew. Maybe work on storyboarding. Revel in good music. Spend the rest of the night finishing the script. Feel accomplished with your productivity. Thank the Lord for all these blessings.

Goals

I am going to marry THIS man
(I am so effing proud of Will Jay)
(I could listen to him sing forever)
(He is doing so well for himself now that he's out of IM5)

And we are going to be just like this couple
(no one does perfect like the Fletcher family)

Day 24: In the corner
Is one of the best parts of my childhood

Humanity's Best

A client at work today, who spoke barely any English, came up to the register. She had about 27 dollars worth of merchandise with her. She got to about 14 something when she stopped me cause she had to check and see if she had enough. A line started to form. She only had 14 dollars. The man behind her, a complete stranger speaking only English, said "how much does she need?" I said "I'm not sure. We haven't even scanned everything." He grabbed the basket and put the rest of her things on the conveyor belt and said "go ahead, I've got it". She declined several times but he would not take no for an answer. She kept thanking him, and trying to at least pay me the fourteen she originally had. He wouldn't let her pay a cent, not even for a single bag. She could only repeat "God bless you" and he insisted it was no problem. The absolute amazement on her face was astounding. I keep thinking about it, almost crying. Some people in this world do things that seem so little but they amaze me.

Day 23: Create
The joy this has created in me.
The looks I can create with this now in my possession.
YAS.

We Have to Find Our Heart Songs All By Ourselves

Don Guillermo likes to sing along to the radio, super loud and hella off-key at random parts of the day. I can't begin to tell you how happy it makes me.

I went to Downtown Silver Spring with Fabrizio today. Today was just a lot of hype for it to be honest. Because we all know he makes my heart go a little crazy. But ah well. Kevin talked to me about it. I talked about his good points for a while because there are honestly so many. And Kevin said "aww Sammy's in love". "Not with him. Love him, but he's not the one I'm IN LOVE with." "Who is?" Which was such a weird question 'cause why are we both implying that I am in love at all and why would I know that right now? But, as one would expect, the question of "Who is this kid from Canada that you've been writing letters to?" came up. And I can't explain this really. But the way I spoke... it was different. Like, it was even obvious to me just how much more... SOMETHING I was when I talked about "my best friend JuanJosé" as opposed to "the cute guy at church Fabrizio". It should've been my first hint. Well, it was. I was aware of it. I just chose to ignore it.

Lemme tell you I looked cute today. I decided to wear stuff I'm not allowed to wear to work (or just don't wear for convenience). So flats, white shorts, low cut-ish shirt, Stitch necklace, and bright red lips. Today's outfit was yes. And it was 100% not for him. I loved it and that's all that matters.

The night was full of song. DTSS had so much life and the air was so warm and lovely. There were so many live bands and it was just so exciting. Our conversations were dull already, but in comparison. Boy. I mean it was fine honestly and we had fun and we kept the conversation going and all. But nothing impresses him and nothing excites him and few things interest him. That's an exaggeration, but hey we didn't see Star Wars or Dragonball Z, so few reactions were anything beyond "Oh cool".

Day 22: Parallel Lines
like our very linear conversation
The lines on the theater over the awesome band

On the way back, we were listening to the radio. Shut Up & Dance came on. He said "I hate this song" and flipped through several stations. It was actually kinda funny. He hated every song that came on, and it wasn't even an angry hate but like a "next" kinda tone, until he just got static and said "I can't even hear this one". He went back to Shut Up & Dance as a lesser evil. I said nothing. I just danced in the car and smiled because I felt like I had reached an amazing conclusion. I then said "I think of you every time I hear it." "Why?" "I heard it for the first time in October, and it was very relevant to our situation at the time" "Uhh what was October? Haha this year has been a long bad blur" "Well at that point I was basically waiting for an answer" "Oh. Oh" "Yeah haha" "I'm sorry hah" "no no it's fine I have a memory for these things, most people don't" "No I usually do to it's just... if it makes you feel better, someone else was waiting for an answer, too hahaha. But I just told HER to leave me alone. At least I didn't tell you that" "No sweetie haha it doesn't but thank you." We finally got home and I thought I'd hug him goodbye and give him a kiss on the cheek, because that's what I usually do when a friend drives me home. My mom had apparently just gotten home cause she was just getting out of her car. So he said hi to her, gave her a hug, and then gave me one. God has spoken. It is not meant to be. Not at all. Never in a million years. THANK. GOD.

I need someone who will sing with me.
And I need someone who will dance.
I've just gotta find the right heart song

Baby Ali!

Note on title: Evan & Ali did not have a baby. Absolutely not. I would murder him. Jk. I'd be very happy for him. I'd still punch him though.

Stephanie had her baby today! Stephanie being Ariel & Kevin's younger sister. She is yet another person who affirms my "I am never having kids" belief. Ah well. Pregnancy is tough. Labor is terrifying. But babies are a gift. And little Allison Michelle (that middle name may be wrong, don't quote me) is a lovely little lady. This is such wonderful news. Welcome to the world, little one!

Day 21: A group
Of stuffed animals that I have a REALLY HARD TIME getting rid of

Return of the Dancing Cashier!

I am back at the register for a week. Boy am I sleepy. And no, it is NOT the most glamorous job. But it went very well! Better than expected at least. Shut Up and Dance played within the first hour of me being there. The time went by pretty quick. I had a lot of really adorable encounters today. No one too awful. One lady was rude, but it was no big thing. And Kevin was there for it so he was supportive and we laughed about it together. You will probably hear me say it a million more times because I cannot say it enough, Kevin & Ronnie have COMPLETELY changed this experience for me. They make all the difference. Bless their souls. Plus deep emotional talk time with Kevin gets me through the day, no lie. Also, PROPS TO ME I FOUND KARLA'S NAME ON A COKE BOTTLE. SPELLED WITH A K AND EVERYTHING.

Day 20: Sunshine
Light through the trees at 7:15AM EST

5-19-15

Appreciate your home. The building I mean. Appreciate how clean it is. Appreciate the AC. Appreciate the lack of creakiness. Appreciate the bed you sleep in. Appreciate the shower with a real shower head that you can use whenever you want. Appreciate your ceiling, complete with tiles. Appreciate doors separating all the rooms. And appreciate having ALL YOUR CLOTHES right there with you.

Day 19: In the distance

Is the beginning of this river, and the end of it
I don't know where either is
But the river must go through quite a journey, and I should do the same.

5-18-15

I SAW TWO TURTLES! There were big turtles. One was in the middle of the road doing it's thing, crawling along. My mom tried to force feed it. She's none too bright. But he was so cooooool. And then the other one was right next to the hiking trail. I stepped next to it thinking it was a rock and then fangirled about it for a good minute. So cute! I was judged. I don't care. I love turtles :3

Day 18: Hiding
(from the rain)

5-17-15

Sometimes, the ability to thank God for being God is enough. And I was in the perfect place to do it.

Day 17: Smooth

Taking Breaks

It finally happened! I finished that giant list my boss wanted, so she moved me downstairs onto a new project. I'm basically doing her job, or the thing she is super behind on and hasn't had a chance to get to. Whoops. It was only for today. The office is quiet. The office needs music. And signal. And when I finally got my break, I went right back upstairs to say hello to my lovely coworkers. Two years ago I was dying to hide downstairs for my breaks. It has AC and no people and it was great. But now I can't wait to get back up. Character development. Slash the beauty of liking your coworkers.

No posts for this weekend as I will be camping with my church :)

Day 16: Friends
 (make you feel appreciated haha)

So Much To Do So Much To See

I'm literally so busy and running around all over the place 'cause of all the stuff I'm taking on. And I refuse to lose sleep. My health is important, dangit. BUT despite having to give up my workouts for other people and my mom packing WAY too much (it's so hilarious oh my gosh), I will say I am happy that at least I'm doing something. I'm not crazy about the stress but so what? I will do this. I will get through it. And then my reward will be McDaniel. I daydreamed about Choices almost all day. Especially 'cause I FINALLY know what character I'm taking on. Senior year theatre is gonna make me work hard, and THAT is the work I live for.

Day 15: Toys
I have tons
But these are special
They're my favorite and they follow me everywhere

Monumental Task Complete

After trying to find time for like a week now, my mom and I finally went to Target. We bought basically everything we will need for our church retreat this weekend. It's so close. Hopefully it'll do lots of good for us.

Day 14: Time
This was the time we pulled out of the parking lot and I was free for the day

Regularly Scheduled Programming

Having a week of extra hours is nice. It will be a great paycheck. But MAN does leaving the store at 5pm and having an afternoon to get things done at my own peace feel GREEEAAATTTT

Day 13: Fresh
In which very few of the fruits actually LOOK fresh.

My Stress Relief

6. The best friend who is your opposite, but feels like home.
This is a best friend you’ve grown up with, someone who has known you from the start.
Her presence grounds you. Though you two may have developed opposite interests and become different individuals over the years, having her in your life roots you to something fundamental within yourself.
Seeing her or even just talking to her is a comfort. She feels like coming home, and you’d be lost without her as an anchor.

I told you last night about all the things I have to do. Well church today kinda tripled my list. I've got A LOT too do. And I can do it. I have to. But I needed a moment to panic about it. And then, relax. And who better to help me with that then good ol' Jonathan. I finally hung out with him for the first time since October. It was lovely. We just chilled on the swings and chatted about absolutely everything. And boy did I need it. Just a good time with someone who gets me.

Day 12: Tiny
Me. I'm tiny. So tiny, I had to take this picture THROUGH THE BARS of the bridge because I could not reach over.
