July First(s) - Sparkle

Hooray for a new month! I'm pretty excited for it. Especially because new things happen this month. For starters, it's the new fiscal year at work, so things are kinda slowing down but mostly just getting back to a normal pace again. Also, I have been slacking on ab workouts and just doing cardio. John would be sad. SO I told myself July would be when I started them up again. It's gonna suck. But that will be great haha. July is the month I start watching the Marvel movies. That will happen soon because it needs to. Hopefully, this weekend! And, thanks to Barbara Dunkelman and Meg Turney, I am going to to a July photo challenge! I don't have instagram so I think I'll just follow along on here! The list is here if you are interested.

New Gym Routine

I was at the gym for an hour today. I usually only do cardio for half an hour. Today, I spent half an hour working with the machines. I don't really know how to use them. Rather, I don't know how to set them properly for myself. Jess says I should be doing more weight than what I did. And in some machines I totally agree. Whereas others I'm like yo I'm weak. I'm still figuring out what the flip everything does. But it's a good step and hopefully I can keep up this new routine at least twice a week. Yay progress and calorie burning!

1-8-15

Apologies for not writing yesterday! Twas a busy day. But here I am to make up for it.

Karla and I went to the gym together. Now, I personally am not a fan of working out in front of other people. No clue why. I realize no one is looking at me. But it still just makes me uncomfortable. Nonetheless, yesterday was rather painless. I was able to focus on myself and my work. And it got done! Hopefully, this can continue and I can stop making excuses throughout the school year.

Habit Forming Is Hard

So guess what I told myself I'd do every day in 2015? Write in this blog again.
Guess what I completely forgot to do. Write in this blog again. It's January 2nd. Proud of you, Sammy.

But forreal. I haven't written in ages. I barely do anymore. It's like I've started to take fun, exciting things for granted and thought they weren't worthy of celebration.

LIFE is worthy of celebration

Here's what I should've written yesterday:

I told myself that as soon as I got home from McDaniel for winter break, I would go on the elliptical for 30 minutes every day, and do 9 sets of 8 crunches. I have not missed a single day. Today I replaced the crunches with a 30 day challenge that's supposed to help your abs. Dunno if it'll work, but I'll hopefully get good at all the stuff! I was also on the elliptical for 35 minutes, and intend to keep that up until January 16, when I will make it 40. Baby steps.

I finished The First Phone Call From Heaven by Mitch Albom today. It was brilliant. I love him so much. There's a reason he's my favorite author. His way with words is incredible. And his books are great for everyone but especially people of faith.

I started the New Year with my sister and my niece. How absolutely lovely.

In 2014, I wrote a poem people ended up really liking. I went to the UK and saw some of the most amazing and breathtaking sights I've ever seen in my life. I met my hero, Carrie Hope Fletcher. Jared Leto won an Oscar. Daft Punk won several Grammys. I had the honor of co-stage managing in Alpha Psi Omega with an incredible person for an wonderful group. I fell deeper in love with Rooster Teeth as they released awesome content including a new season of my favorite show. I dropped my Communication Major and adopted the minor instead. I finally. Finally. FINALLY. Escaped a seven year unhealthy relationship. I was re-elected as Stage Manager. My niece turned one! I went to 4 different concerts, including the 1975 (easily my favorite concert), 30 Seconds to Mars and Anberlin (two of my favorite bands). 1975 was also where I fell in love with Bad Suns. Germany won the World Cup. Spent some quality time with some quality church friends, and strengthened those bonds immensely. Enjoyed Summer for the first time in SEVERAL years. I became a Peer Mentor and worked with people that continuously inspired me. I roomed with my best friend. I won a couple giveaways. I led a class and got loads of compliments. I started a youtube channel.

Wow guys. Wow.

Does A Body Good

Reason 166: Today we've had no internet all day. I'm rushing to write this because I hope it doesn't go away. So, without internet, there really wasn't much to do. So I napped. What? Naps? Sammy?! Yeah, me. It was the first time in YEARS that I took a nap without getting a headache. Oh man, it was beautiful. My body was all relaxed and cozy! Teehee now I see what all the fuss is about. And I woke up feeling energized! Had a pretty good workout session, if I do say so myself. I mean... not for an average person, but you know, for me, who hates any physical movement ever haha. Feelin' fine!

PS: I must ask, pretty please pray for my mommy. She's been feeling sick all day, it's been pretty bad but I think it's letting up. Your prayers would be much appreciated <3
