Knowledge is Power

Reason 268: So cute kid? The one who is now in the show? Who is so ridiculously distracting with his cuteness? Yeah... that's not a thing anymore hahaha. I found out something that was enough for me to say nope! No thanks. He's still a really cool person. And he commits to his role, absolutely. But, I dunno. Call me crazy, I just like my guys a little less... green? Do with that what you will. Anyway. YAY FREEDOM!

Until the new Daft Punk CD comes out, I'm on a SERIOUS 30 Seconds to Mars phase.
And by phase I mean, even though I always listen to them, right now they are ALL. I. LISTEN. TO.
Can you blame me? They're magic.

Highlight of the WEEK

Sammy: I'm legitimately trying to find a discreet way to blog about it
Jess: lol be blunt as hell. He deserves it
<3

Reason 216: I'm not going to be "blunt as hell" haha. Let's just say a friend of mine posted something today. It was a very simple statement in regards to how he felt about his current situation. In short, he's content. On Saturday, Reason 210, I ended by quoting the picture I used, "I will do it." Today, thanks to this simple statement, I can say I've reached the final step. Because I'm content, too. Better than that. I'm finally extremely happy. And it can only get better from here. "Yes, I did it!"

PS: Thanks to all for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I feel SO much better in regards to this stupid illness. Gastroenteritis takes a good week to get rid of, so I'm still pretty contagious. But the symptoms are gone, and I've managed to mostly get rid of the cough I had beforehand. I don't sound dead when I sing anymore. Our show opens Wednesday. I'm going to Disney World. Blessings all around. God is good. Forgive me if I sound like I'm bragging, but I'm really just so happy.

Ed Sheeran rapping. Cannot get over it.

Opened Up My Eyes

Reason 23: I'm ready to tell you. Let me know when you're ready to listen :)

PARDON ME while I jam to some Ace of Base ;)

I tried to come up with a video for today. I could've gone the Alicia Keys/Relient K/Kelly Clarkson route. But that was a bit MUCH. So here is some Jem & the Holograms (well, the show is actually called Jem), aka the best cartoon ever. It's from the 80's and it was the first cartoon to include "music videos" as part of the show. It began as a 5 episode series by the toy company Hasbro in order to promote their new line of dolls (which was competing with Barbie dolls at the time. This explains why there's so much pink in the show). It was so popular that it became a full series. OMG it's so good, and so is the music. And it's basically a must see. I have the first 2 seasons and some of season 3 on DVD hehe.

^Premise of this episode. Jem & the Holograms and The Misfits are rival bands. Kimber (girl with pink hair) is the keyboardist/lyricist from Jem & the Holograms. Stormer (blue hair) is the composer for The Misfits. Both feel unappreciated and go to some bar to cool off. They end up next to each other, and the crowd asks them to play together.

Nothing Will Ever Be As Good As Here & Now

My So-Called Life was a show on ABC in the 90's. It was cancelled after one season and wrongfully so. It followed teenage Angela Chase (played by one of my favorite actresses, Claire Danes) and the reality that is teenage life. Leaving old friends with different interests. Finding new friends. Finding who you are. Drugs. Homophobia. Adultery. Disability. And it was honest. Not like these shows that are all about morals and "do the right thing, kids!". It was real. A big focus of the show was Angela's major crush on Jordan Catalano (played by actor/singer/love of my life, Jared Leto). For most of the show, Angela's emotions were jumbled because of how much she liked him.

Reason 18: This. Is me. Right now. And it feels incredible.
