Youth Group Day

A whole afternoon. With people who matter. Who are willing to listen. And just get it. And make your heart happy. And you feel useful and welcomed and like this is who you need and where you need to be. That is a lovely thing. Lovelier when you get to wear shorts of course, but eh, you win some you lose some. I vented a lot today and related a lot today and I'm just so glad to get stuff off my chest and remember that I am not alone.

Bat In the Bushes

I will never understand how John works. Our favorite thing to do is basically whine about people, or rather our inability to have people in our lives romantically. John does this a lot. Like a lot a lot. It makes me laugh. I seriously have no problem listening to him vent! I agree with a lot of what he says, and it makes me feel good that he cares about my opinion. Besides, with John? Never a dull moment. But last night, after talking for a while, he decided THE ONLY WAY HE COULD REPAY THE DEBT is to have me mope and whine for a while. I wasn't aware he was in debt. But he insisted. So I got to have a little fit. It was just nice having him listen. And I realized how much he care about me as a friend. He, not even jokingly, was ready to give some of my exs a mouthful, or a bat to the face. Which, as I told him, IS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. AND ALSO ILLEGAL. MOSTLY UNNECESSARY. But still, it felt nice to see that he wasn't just bored by my whining, he actually cared and wanted to make sure I was happy. He said "the difference between you and me is you actually deserve to find somebody". As much of a fool as this kid is, he deserves it, too. Maybe more.

The Thing About Good Food

Reason 135: Breakfast for Dinner!! It's a little treat McDaniel has for exam week. It's fantastic. And of course everybody was in a stellar mood. It was nice getting to spend the evening with some wonderful people :) And most of it was with Jen & John which is always fun. It's nice to be with people that you can just vent to as well as be vented to in a casual way, and still have a grand old time. They shall be missed during break <3

Laugh In the Face Of Danger

Reason 108: That was AWESOME. I thoroughly enjoyed that. I told our story, in its most basic form I suppose. But I was still able to really get it all off my chest. People loved it. They were really into it! And they thought it was cool. And they thought it was relatable (lolwut). Oh, and it was 18 minutes long (LOUL). But the best part? After all that, I laughed. I laughed at so many points telling this story. Like, it's crazy. This is something that, at the time, broke me. I was miserable, and seriously found no good outlook on it. But now I can look back on it and say "look how silly I was. Look how big a deal I made it. Look at everything I went through we went through. And look where we are now" :)

Everytime.
