My little sis is off to college! Idalis, a girl from church who I grew up with and basically love like family, went to Towson. Her orientation has started. She makes me proud beyond words, and she's an incredible woman. I'm lucky to know her. And now she's off to change the world. But first, she's gonna change a little. Because that's what college does. I know the whole experience will be good for her. I'm just so beyond excited. I can't wait to hear all the wonderful stories :)

California, Here We Come

WOW. It's been a while since I've written here. And that's completely not okay. Not sure if this is the BEST idea 'cause I know I'll be very busy soon. But I'm deciding right now that (sans the 1st and 2nd where I am without computer), I will write an entry every day for the month of August. Like the old days! Get back in the swing of things. My life could use it :)

I'm writing today because tomorrow morning, at 4AM to be exact, I'm headed to the airport! And then I will be on a flight towards LAX. I will be spending the remainder of this week in West Coast Baptist College with my youth group. This is bittersweet, admittedly. I don't know why, probably because there's a lot of ways this could go. But I'm positive! It'll be a good experience for me. Plus, I leave home all the time, and I already know what dorm life is like. This will be a breeze. It'll be nice and warm and we will all have an incredible experience. Sure, I'll have lots of episodes and videos to catch up on -sigh- but that's completely okay. I'm gonna make the most of this crazy time. I'm not even so excited about the destination. California is okay, but it doesn't amaze me. And again, I know college life. I'm more so excited for the blessing this could be in my life and the lives of my friends. Speaking of, I'm pretty sure some of the younger ones are gonna be looking at this school in the future and will just think "ooh pretty campus, I'll apply here!". So the little Upward Bound goody two shoes that I hid somewhere in my distant memory is probably gonna come back out and start asking about visitations, library hours, class sizes, parking, meal plans, etc. Ahh. College tours. I have not missed you haha. Pray for me. Wish me luck. I'll see you in a few days <3

Fueled By Ramen

Aka College.

DONE WITH FINALS! HALLELU! And the two that I thought were the hardest and I would probably fail turned out to be the easiest! Studied like a madwoman for astronomy, and I finished the whole thing in half an hour. And Communications was pretty cool, too. There was a question about My So-Called Life and it was on like Cheech & Chong. Tis a good day. Now to make cards & learn lines. WE OPEN IN LESS THAN A WEEK. AHHHHH!

Title because college. Also because A Fever You Can't Sweat Out has been playing non-stop.

I'm pretty sure Panic! is one of the major reasons I'm so iffy about mimes. Like I'm almost 100% positive.

Diana

I seriously ADORE this girl. Margie & I went to Diana's going away party tonight. There was Daft Punk in the background, fun games, great food, glow sticks, and all the fun times. Seriously, I laughed and chatted and truly enjoyed myself! I love Diana to no end. That girl just gets me, and is such a wonderful friend. I'm so thrilled that she's going to a school she loves. She will be so great out there. I have the utmost confidence in this girl. She has proven time and time again that she is a God fearing woman who knows what she wants and has the skills and know how. I cannot wait to hear from her. See how she's liking her school. Find out about her latest projects and jobs. Best believe I'm rooting for her all the way.

I Know Where I've Been

Reason 32: Nostalgia. Maybe it's the fact that Storm (one of the besties) moved to college today. Maybe it's because my math class reminded me entirely of Mrs. Havener (my math teacher junior year). Maybe it's because Jonathan (the bff) texts me all the time. Maybe it's because Hairspray's first rehearsal was today (SO FUN!) and I kept reconnecting to S.T.A.G.E's version of the show. But I keep thinking about AEHS. I kinda miss high school. And I don't think it's a bad thing. I think I'm blessed to have carried such a positive experience with me. I'm happy here. I'm happy there. It's a lot of happy.

Skillet! Now THAT is a flashback mode. Middle school, man!

Motivation

So I'm reading my math assignment about how to be successful in the class. Book reads, " To stay motivated, there must be some outcomes from this course that are worth your time, money, and energy. List some reasons you are taking this course." I'm taking it because it's required. Done. Hah, does it want me to write it? Probably not. "Do not make a mental list - actually write them out." Oh, kay. Maybe later. "Do this now." Wow. Well you didn't say please. Besides, I'll be forced to think of more answers. "Although we hope that one of the reasons you listed was an interest in mathematics, we know that many of you are taking this course because it is required to graduate." O.O... all knowing math book teach me your ways.

Reason 31: I'm cast in Hairspray!! No rehearsals tonight so I can do more work, but I'll be plenty busy. I GOT CAST AS A DYNAMITE! (What? I just. I don't. How. I. skahgsja. Eloquence.) I dunno how because I am by no means a soprano. But God willing, He will guide me through, and I'll have the best time!

The Dynamites are the singing group. O.O my life right now!

More Than Mediocre

Reason 14: We're doing some dorm shopping today! I'm getting that much closer to a really big change in my life. Making the shopping list honestly got me pretty excited. Ahh! 11 more days?!?!

Jacob & Josh Fu (aka thefumusic) make music! And are just about the sweetest brothers ever. Watching this made me so so happy about my future <3
