Back In the Cornfields

Today's gonna be one of those LIST days

• Left the house at a pretty nice time. No rush. And I was right. Everything DID fit. Ha! (Seriously. Why do I own so many things. And after taking so much, why is my room nowhere near empty. Too upset to use correct punctuation. What).
• So we get onto Georgia Ave and as we pass by a certain road, my mom says "Bye Jonathan!!". There are times I think she likes him more than I do. Welp, I was amused.
• Nice, calm drive.
• Looked to the right. Yep. And there are the cornfields.
• First person I see here is Nick, who lives with the boys. Then I see Cole. And they both give me wonderful hugs. On my way to pick up my key, I also see Kelsey and Ellen. It all just feels so natural. Seriously. Campus. This place is so comfy.
• See John and he runs to me and hugs me <3 And when his friends call him out on his girly running, he says "Sammy deserves excited running". Ugh, I missed this kid.
• Move NONSENSE into the room. Takes forever. But honestly, I'm so happy with it. It's just spacious enough. We have this really big window and the desks are next to it so we have a view. The furniture isn't great, but it'll do nice enough. ALSO, all of it is shorter. Odd, but obviously I have no problem with shorter.
• Go to target to pick up a few things. See basically half the world. John gives me a giant hug and I run into Shannon! (My roommate). She's basically already moved in, too. (I guess while my mom and I were out eating). Nick tells me that apparently he works at Target, so discounts are a thing. Um. Yes.
• Come back and see Sara, which is super exciting!
• Get the room exactly how we like it. Our walls are still a little bare, but it's really not so bad. The finishing touch is some Christmas lights around the frame of our beautiful window. No AC, but home nonetheless.
• I'm sure later I'll see more people and probably eat and just go crazy because I'm home! Yay McDaniel!

PS: My mother killed a wasp in my room. I was terrified. Here's to NO MORE BUGS IN MY ROOM. PLEASE & THANK YOU.

On The Road Again

Reason 182: Packing is difficult. And long. And strenuous. And kinda boring. BUT I'm just happy because I had a really great break, and I'm getting ready to go back to a really great school. Didn't miss the shower shoes or the fact that I have to log into the internet every time, but I'm gonna see my wonderful friends, be a part of a cool show, and take some awesome classes. Plus, I really did miss that dorm room. We'll just see how much dust I have to clean off the furniture :$ Maybe I'll be able to find time between rehearsals to actually apply for a job

Reminders

I had a few ideas for what I might blog about today. A beautiful Interactive Theatre class with people who have become like family to me. A stroll with John that, for no good reason, put me in a good mood. My excitement for registration tonight. New, wonderful music in my life. To name a few. But then I watched this. And it's struck something in me. And I feel it has to be shared.

Reason 110: I know who I am, even if I forgot for a little while. But I'm coming back, I promise :)

On My Way

Reason 24: All packed! I leave tomorrow. Finally. I'm so ready to be gone and do something new with my life. I mean, I'm an hour away, so unfortunately I feel like I'm still here. But still! This is a new experience for me, and I can't wait :)

More Than Mediocre

Reason 14: We're doing some dorm shopping today! I'm getting that much closer to a really big change in my life. Making the shopping list honestly got me pretty excited. Ahh! 11 more days?!?!

Jacob & Josh Fu (aka thefumusic) make music! And are just about the sweetest brothers ever. Watching this made me so so happy about my future <3

A Library Full Of Our Stories

Reason 6: The McDaniel facebook page is wonderful. We're discussing our summer reading, Delete: The Virtue of Forgetting In The Digital Age, and I am evidently not the only one who dislikes it immensely haha. There have been posts for Nerdfighters and Disney fans, and who knows what else. I'm pretty happy that I'm meeting more like-minded people every day. It's just comforting to think I'll have friends ^_^
