A Plus
You know what? Some days are hard but like... I'm not where I was last year. Not by a LONG shot. I won't lie and say stuff from last year was trivial. It wasn't. It was devastating. But I'm still here. God got me through that. And He will be here for many more tests and trials.

It's A Date
We have set a date for my interview! Tuesday the 13th. I'm so nervous. I'm so excited. I'm so hopeful. Oh my goodness pray for me this feels HUGE I MIGHT ACTUALLY GET A NEW JOB
Speaking of. I did good work today. Couldn't finish everything. Especially because I came in a bit late. But I still made my 8 hours, got all the surgery stuff done on time, and made good progress on everything else. Wow it feels good.
Also no driving for so long! Twas icy and rainy, so mommy drove me to work and daddy drove me home. And then Thursdays we have church so mama and I always travel together! Two whole days off for me! Whoo!

Ugly Turkey
We had our Thanksgiving women's bible study. Lovely as always, with good word and lots of fun. Everyone got a cute little turkey made of a fall leaf, paper, marker, and a clothes pin. It's super cute. But it was apparently meant to be ugly. The idea was that we always thank God for the great and wonderful things He does in our lives. We should also be thanking Him for the ugly, unpleasant, dark, difficult things. He's in control of all of it, and we should be grateful. Especially because we know good comes from it in the end. We were meant to write something on this little turkey. We could throw it out or keep it, as long as we remembered to give thanks for it. Admittedly? The first thing I thought of was Trump. I almost thanked God for that awful man, because I knew that even he is God's creation and even though I knew he inspired so much hate and violence and judgement and malicious action, there's been an outpouring of peace and compassion and assistance trying to drown him out. I wanted to think about the negative things that changed my year. The depression. The stress. I was very close to writing my job down, if I'm being honest. But then I decided on something that has inspired a lot of my bad decisions and hardest breakdowns in the past year. Something that I am still not 100% at peace with, though for different reasons now than initially. Something that I pretend to see God's hand in but really just kind of hope with all my heart and faith in Him that this was the right decision and that He made it this was for some reason completely unknown to me. I'm annoyed at how pathetic this option was. But it was just cryptic enough that my manager couldn't get offended and my friends would have no clue what it meant. I wrote 7.17.16. And it's going to sit on my shelf. And if it's the last thing I'll do, I'll learn to be grateful for it. And for the fact that where I am now is leagues beyond where any of us were then.

Blessings In Threes
- My mentee, Torreke, made me his Woman Crush Wednesday today! And it was super duper sweet! Especially after a kinda rough morning. It just made my heart super happy 'cause I love all my mentees so much and I'm glad they love me back! Best FYS ever.
- I got to workout today I actually had time what huh what is this magic you speak of I dunno but I did it and I feel AWESOME. Also super hungry like I want to eat literally everything.. But we're ignoring that. Yay diet & exercise!
- Day 8: Rough
Bonus: Not as much of a blessing but boy do I feel blessed.
A navy seal walked into the store today for some good old fashioned grocery shopping. I saw him from behind first and IMMEDIATELY was like what? Young white person? Lies. Then I got a good look at him while he was at the register and WHOOOO. My life is changed. I dunno his name, I dunno his age, all I know is he is a gentleman and BEAUTIFUL. He was seriously so sweet to the cashier. And when had to pass him to keep working, I said excuse me and he said you're fine. My mind was like NO YOU. Seriously, he was swoon worthy. Cute smile and everything. Ah! I passed by the front of the store a few minutes later to get a cart and saw him pacing by his car while on the phone. I just thought FRIEND. HOW CAN I HELP YOU. YOU LOOK SO SAD. DO YOU NEED DIRECTIONS? I CAN DIRECT YOU TO EXACTLY WHERE YOU NEED TO BE RIGHT NOW. Lol it was ridiculous. I was ridiculous. But there has been a shortage of handsome men at this store and THIS ONE SERVES OUR COUNTRY. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I Should Stop Doing Things
I posted a cover of a song today on thisroutehastolls. It's not great. I mean, I'm not thrilled. Like, I'm my worst critic, so I notice every place something isn't perfect which is a lot. But like. I did it? And that still feels really good? I dunno. It's weird. But it's just cool to think that not so long ago the idea of the public seeing me at all was so scary and now this is my 17th video and I'm doing what I love to do, aware of my mistakes and doing it anyway. So. Yay.

Filling Up My Soul
Reason 269: Those moments when a song so expresses how you feel, and tells the story you needed to hear.

Purple Haze
We wear the best color in the world ever!
PURPLE
Reason 178: Learning to drive starts. I'm lazy so it's not too exciting. But it is at the same time. After taking this practice test 1000 times and being drilled by Karla & Eric, I'm gonna take my written test for my permit tomorrow. I know, about time, right? Progress, Sammy. Progress is good.
