Feeling New

I don't have this job yet. I am not guaranteed this job. It may not work. It may not be what God wants. This might not go well. But it might work out. And the idea that I'm going to leave my current job soon has decreased my stress like you wouldn't believe. I feel like I can breathe honestly.

Also the youth group kids are planning a vacation. And it might actually work.

It's A Date

We have set a date for my interview! Tuesday the 13th. I'm so nervous. I'm so excited. I'm so hopeful. Oh my goodness pray for me this feels HUGE I MIGHT ACTUALLY GET A NEW JOB

Speaking of. I did good work today. Couldn't finish everything. Especially because I came in a bit late. But I still made my 8 hours, got all the surgery stuff done on time, and made good progress on everything else. Wow it feels good.

Also no driving for so long! Twas icy and rainy, so mommy drove me to work and daddy drove me home. And then Thursdays we have church so mama and I always travel together! Two whole days off for me! Whoo!

4-18-15

I met Mama!!! It was actually the sweetest thing ever. I met my Little's mommy. And she was an absolute darling. So sweet and loving. And she gave me a huge hug right away. I can tell she is a kind person with a lot of love in her heart. She joked with me and thanked me for stuff I gave Mandy. I just. UGH. It's so cool that she is so involved with Mandy's life here. It's a good relationship. And it's also hilarious how much she wants to meet my niece. I'd be more than happy to arrange something :3 As an extreme bonus act of kindness, Mandy's parents donated to my Relay for Life page today. I am so very blessed.

EDIT: I forgot about this last night cause I was so sleepy, but it needs to be added. Something else that happened is tied for first and I need to mention it.

There is a man. There is a man I love dearly. His name is Fabrizio; I'm sure you're sick of that name. He is a friend of mine from church who is close to my heart. I might've loved him for the rest of my life, but I am a strong believer in God's plan. And he, to me, is proof of God slowly preparing us for incredible things.

I may not be so happy in my church anymore. I may need to leave soon. I need to run because I honestly cannot take it anymore. But he's not running. Slowly, respectfully, and intelligently, he has been fighting and making a difference. I don't even know if he's aware. But I truly believe that God has given him the task of taking this misguided congregation and leading them back to the right path. It's a hard job, and it made me realize that he will need a stronger support system than me. He doesn't need someone who has to run; he needs someone who will stand and fight with him. I'm more than happy to support him from afar. And watching him go along this path brings joy to my heart. He's been helping direct hymns for quite some time now. For a couple of years, he has been the President of the Youth Group. For maybe a year now, he has been a teacher for kids about 7 to 10. At the beginning of the year, he was also made a deacon. He knows how to speak to these people and how to make them see the light. It's incredible to watch.

Last night, he told me he preached for the first time. He actually led a service. I almost cried when I heard. He said it went very well and he got a lot of compliments. I told him how happy I was and that I wish I could've seen it, but I was sure I'd get the chance over the summer. He said I probably would because he, along with Jaroll and Bryan, would start preaching regularly with our usual Hermano Arce. My heart is singing. This generation has so much promise, and they are doing such good things in the eyes of the Lord. They, in my opinion, are the hope for this church. And watching it all unfold fills my heart with love and song in ways I cannot eloquently describe. I trust that boy with my life, and certainly as my spiritual guide. And I hope that the rest of our congregation will continue to do the same because if there is one thing I'm certain of, it is that God is going to do amazing things in the life of this amazing man.

Interviews

My mommy went to a hiring event today! She says it went pretty well. It was fairly quick for her. You know her resume is pretty impressive. She's got lots of experience. She's certainly got the qualifications. I don't know if they will give her the job. Seriously, I mean how could I know? But I'm optimistic. And if she did get it, how great would that be?! I mean, you should see all the benefits she'd be getting there. And it's basically doing what she already enjoys doing. This time, closer to her daughter & granddaughter! To be quite honest with you, the slight possibility that my mom might be able to finally start taking care of herself and not worry so much about money makes me happy. Please pray for her and send good vibes!

Ongoing Process

Life and plans and such. Constantly moving forward. So here is how things stand.

  • I AM HOME FOR FALL BREAK. HALLELU! I shall be here from, well, Friday night, to early Wednesday morning, since I have no morning classes. MUCH NEEDED break at home
  • Spent last night and all today with Karla & Cristina & Eric. Twas lovely as always. Oh how I missed that little girl. Missed her with all my heart. And time with Karla is always just so healing.
  • This Monday my Dad and I are going to get my passport stuff sorted. I highly doubt I can, on account of this fun little government shutdown. My Dad doubts it, too. My Mom says we should check anyway. It is in my best interest to get it, and I'd rather say I tried. So, as things stand, Monday is passport day.
  • SHOULD MY PASSPORT COME BEFORE JANUARY. Yes. I am going to Europe. The most amazing trip ever. And it will be glorious.
  • SHOULD IT NOT COME. There shall be an alteration of plans.
    • Europe 2016. Possibly no Doctor Who experience, but basically all the restaurants and tours and shows are the same. The trip will come again and I will be able to have the most memorable senior year ever.
    • Toronto 2015/2017. That is a goal. Assuming I'm using the extra year(s) to save up, I should at some point get enough for my much wanted trip to Canada. It will happen within the next 4 years, I am determined. Hopefully the prices aren't ridiculously higher than they are now.
  • No more BufferFest. As incredible as the whole experience is. No passport. No free transport now that Kimberly is not going. And the expense of the tickets for all the events. It's a Youtube convention, not a concert. So, I've made a decision. Until a Youtube convention reaches DC or Baltimore, or I just happen to be in the assigned area at the convenient time, I won't plan on attending.
  • thisroutehastolls will be up before the end of 2014. One way or another. I doubt I will ever have money to buy my own mic and camera, so unless I am gifted these things, I should stop waiting for that to happen. HOWEVER I am seriously debating getting a smartphone. Specifically for the camera. Lord knows I HATE smartphones and it's not like my Dad and I can afford data anyway. But tons of people do iPhone vlogs. Maybe my quality won't be so great but I'm sure we can make up for it in content. And that way, your sister and I have more or less the same quality in our videos. We'll work our way up to better visuals later. Honestly, our focus just needs to be starting the channel.
Like I said. I'm a dreamer. Maybe this is just where I write everything down. So that I jinx it. Or just remember it. Or have witnesses to hold me to my goals. I dunno. I plan on keeping you updated. These things are pretty major events that I want in my life. It's only right that you stay updated on it all :)

Odds Are

Odds are I don't get to go on this amazing Jan Term. It's sad, but I think I'm getting used to the idea. I have to accept reality and the fact that there is no money for these things. MEANWHILE. If I were to miss the trip, why not take a trip of my own? To Toronto for example? BufferFest, the Youtube gathering, will be in Toronto this November and I WANT TO GO SO BADLY. I mean seriously, LOOK at that schedule. Obviously, the tickets don't come cheap. But that would be AMAZING. Kimberly is thinking of going SO we might be able to go together! And apparently your mom already offered up her home to me. Like, omg if this works out <3 I'm such a dreamer. Who knows if anything will work. I may very well not travel anywhere for the next 5 years. But I still like to get excited about things! Possibilities are always endless. Why not dream big?

"Odds Are" by Barenaked Ladies. Video produced by Rooster Teeth (same people that do Red vs Blue and RWBY). Both the song and the video are precious.

Never Making Promises

Reason 226: Ever get just so filled with emotion that you have to sob? Like, not sad tears or happy tears or proud tears. Just let it all out and breathe tears. Yeah, I like those. They feel great, and so relieving and comforting. You know what the best part of a show is? When all the little subplots finally connect and EVERYBODY finally knows EVERYTHING and uses all that knowledge to get to a solution. So it is with life. Getting generic answers is useful, but only for a time. Finally knowing 100% exactly the path you need to take? It's enough to make you cry :)
