Broken Whiskers

It's been a successful day. I wore my Howl's Moving Castle shirt and I feel super happy in it. I helped babysit Cristina and David, and David basically slept for three hours. Cristina watched The Lion King and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and quoted along with the movies in addition to making some perfect commentary (as seen on my Twitter). I got to watch movies that make me really happy with a little itty bitty who clung onto me when the scary parts started. It makes me kinda proud how much Disney she loves already. I love days like today.

Also, I'm finally giving a listen to Bad Suns' new album, Disappear Here. I am a fan. So pumped for the concert in November!

Sharing Magic

Jen saw Howl's Moving Castle today for the first time. Seriously, it is my favorite movie ever of all time. I always feel so much better after I watch it. And I'm glad that other people enjoy these magical worlds, too. Hooray for true love.

Day 9: Dull
This day.

Movie Magic

My Little & I sorta kinda unintentionally traded movies today. Rather, we watched movies we knew the other person liked and told each other about it. I watched How to Train Your Dragon 2. Considering I'd only seen the first one a few weeks prior, it was all still fresh in my mind. I didn't wait five years for Hiccup to grow handsome. I don't think I even waited five weeks. BUT. It was lovely all the same. True to the original, not afraid to be real in terms of relationships (familial, romantic, and otherwise), and incredibly heartfelt. I cried. I couldn't help it. It was sad and sweet and fun and beautiful. I'm thrilled with it. Now I must see the other Animated Feature nominees and decide for myself who should've won. I adore Disney, as you know, and I've heard only wonderful things about Big Hero 6. But after Frozen beating The Wind Rises last year, I'm skeptical. (Then again, Spirited Away beat Lilo & Stitch way back when. And although I am so attached to Lilo & Stitch, I can acknowledge Spirited Away earned that victory). What I cannot accept is Howl's Moving Castle losing to Wallace & Gromit. Speaking of Studio Ghibli and Howl's Moving Castle, that's what Mandy watched today. Well, I don't know if she finished it, but she definitely started it. And she's already commenting on the beautiful animation. I could rant about my love for my favorite movie for hours. It's so magical. I may have to watch it again right now, to be honest. Only an hour after she told me she was watching that, Moises told me he is on Season 3 of Red vs Blue. Hooray for sharing interests! Go us.

*Jose JalapeƱo On A Stick

Apologies for zero internet. Monday's entry, which I am very excited about.

Reason 296: So today was my first day of work. And I'm super happy with it! It's a little latin market so it's not too busy. Also, the customers there are all loyal to the store, so everybody knows everybody. The staff is also really nice and very helpful. I think I'm already picking up on a lot. It's definitely a lot to remember, but I think I'll get it all soon enough. Alicia (old friend/my trainer) says I'm basically almost set to go on my own! They customers all knew I was new, and were incredibly nice to me. One younger gentleman called me "mi amor". Which I know should be creepy in a way. But it was genuine, and it kinda made me ridiculously happy because it's literally my favorite thing to be called. Yay working lady!

We had a long conversation about Turnips and what they were in Spanish and all I could think of was
Magic Vegetable Man On a Stick*

Lifting Spirits

Reason 148: Let's talk about how Karla hasn't been sick all weekend :) She's been upbeat and joking and Christmas-y! Missing Eric, of course, (did I mention he's in Ohio for his mom's birthday so Karla is staying with us? He'll be back tomorrow morning, no worries.) but overall in a good mood. So we (us 3 ladies in the house, the family, even our church) have been talking about the baby! Future plans for happiness. My mom is SO ready for this kid. And, maybe because Karla is feeling better, I'm starting to get excited all over again. I'm going to be an aunt! Tia Sammy hehe. And this baby will be so absolutely loved. Not just by us, but everyone. Even people in our church who never get to see her anymore (she goes to a different church with Eric) are constantly wishing her the best and praying for her. To me, that just proves that this family is surrounded by love, and this baby is no exception :D

Ignore the PS in your card when you get it, the baby is now the size of a turnip! Which made me think of this guy
Turnip Head! Can we please watch Howl's Moving Castle? It's my favorite movie ever and you would love it.

Big Spender

Reason 85: There's cheesecake in my fridge. I had funnel cake. I bought 2 shirts. I've made a Pikachu pumpkin, as well as a pumpkin for a wedding on campus. I've been getting compliments on my hair all day. And I've just finished watching my favorite movie, Howl's Moving Castle. So pleased with how my day has gone.

The Turning Of A Key

Reason 35: Air conditioning!!! And a toaster! And my own bathroom! And free laundry! And no shower shoes! And PELIGRO! And my tia is here ^_^ It's nice to be home.

Remember thefumusic? They were part of an internet competition. This video was the one that made everyone realize just how talented they are, and how sweet they are :)
PS: We need a Studio Ghibli marathon. Their movies tend to be out there. They can make some of the ugliest creatures ever. But they make such beautiful art. And the music is always touching. And they are master story tellers. It's hard not to appreciate :)
